Please pray for my mother in law

I am sorry that I have not been here in a while…Anxiety has been bad lately and I have not been online much. But today, I am not asking for prayers for myself, but for my mother in law. She was having bad stomach pains and they did an ultrasound and found her gallbladder was bad and full of stones. So it will have to be removed. But, on the ultrasound they also saw two pretty good size solid liver tumors in the dome of her liver. The dr. is quite concerned. She already has Crohn’s disease, and has been treated for a couple of years with Remicade and another medication. These medications have done wonders for her Crohn’s symptoms, but unfortuntately they work by turning off her immune system and supressing the inflammation that Crohns causes…and what is also unfortnate is the treatment makes her susceptible to severe life threatening infections, and malignancies. That is why her dr. thinks the liver tumors are an ominous finding. They could be benign, and that is what we are praying for, but given her treatment with Remicade, and the fact that she has lost three brothers to cancer, well it seems that the odds are against her. Of course our Lord is the Divine Physician, and he can heal anything, so I ask for your prayers for my mother in laws healing, if it is His Holy Will. Thank you in advance for your prayers, and I will try and be online more often to pray for all of you…even when I am not online though, you are all in my prayers everyday…God bless each and every one of you.

O Lord, You can work a miracle here, if it is Your will. I ask that You grant this miracle and restore this woman to full health. In Jesus name we pray.

Just an update on my mother in law…she will be undergoing a liver biopsy in just a few minutes just to verify the CT scan results. Please keep her in your prayers. I visited with her yesterday, and she is in pain, and scared, and losing lots of weight. My heart breaks for her. Dear Lord, please grant her the miracle of complete healing from her cancer. Amen

I have another update on my mother in law, and her diagnosis has changed since I last updated you. Once the biopsies of her liver came back, the diagnosis changed from pancreatic cancer, to small cell lung cancer, with metastasis to the pancreas, liver, and bone. The pancreatic cancer diagnosis was based on just the CT scan results. Once she had the biopsies it was confirmed that the liver tumors were metastases of small cell lung cancer. She has since had a chest CT and a brain CT and a whole body bone scan…No cancer was found in her brain, but it is in her lungs of course, and her bones, in addition to her pancreas and liver. She started chemo today and her oncologist says she may live 8 months or a little longer with chemo. With no treatment, she would live for a couple months, maybe less. He is hopeful that with chemo she can feel better and be able to do some things before she dies, but she is still terminal. She cannot be cured expect by Jesus. We are all worried about the chemo and if she can even withstand it. She is 70 years old, in a lot of pain already from the bone cancer, has lost a massive amount of weight and is barely eating anything and what she does eat doesn’t always stay down. She spends most of her time in bed and is in a weakened state already. Chemo is rough stuff under the best of circumstances. So please, keep her in your prayers. Pray that the Lord won’t let her suffer a long time, and that if it is not His will to cure her, that he will let her pass away peacefully and without pain. God bless…

Dear Tina…Keeping your MIL in daily prayer that her sufferings will neither be long or overly painful if it is not God’s Will for a cure and that if she does pass that it will be very peaceful. Keeping in prayer too all around her who love and care along with her medical team…Barb
 
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love’s sake. Amen.
 
Another update on my mother in law…she is not doing well. The first round of chemo was rough on her, and she continues to barely eat or drink and is very weak. She was taken to the ER last night because her legs wouldn’t even hold her up. They ran tests and said she was severely dehydrated and malnourished. We can’t get her to eat or drink…she simply refuses and says she can’t. Her red blood cell count is very low as well, so apparently her bone marrow is not recovering from the first round of chemo and she is due for the second round early next week. However with such a low RBC count she will not be able to have the treatment. Things seem to be going downhill quickly for her, but there are a couple of positives there is not much pain and that is a blessing. And her breathing has been fine as well. So that’s another blessing. But she is so weak and malnourished that if things don’t turn around quickly we don’t think she will be with us very long. Please keep praying for her. We are all so worried and scared. Thank you.
