Just when my mother passed away, despite my father declining and my own depression, I’d thought I would get my life back on track to something normal again…job, socially, etc.

But today I got bad news about my eyesight. I had been told years ago that I might have retinitis pigmentosa (no cure). Today, my doctor told me my sight had gotten worse. If this continues, they won’t allow me to renew my driver’s license later this year. I’m already having trouble driving at night and going down steps. God help me. How will I get a job? I’ve just lost my mother and now, I’m losing my sight. Please pray to St. Lucy that progression of this will stop/stabilize, so that I can at least maintain/continue my life safely, get a job and pay my bills.

Praying for the intercession of St. Lucy on your behalf.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 26 (27)
Listen, Lord, to my voice as I cry: have mercy and listen to me.
“Seek his face”, my heart has said, and so I will seek your face, O Lord.

Do not turn your face away from me, do not turn from your servant in anger.
You are my helper, do not reject me; do not abandon me, God, my help.
For when my father and mother have abandoned me, the Lord will take me up.

Show me your ways, Lord, and guide me along the right path, out of the reach of my enemies.

Do not hand me over to the whim of those who would persecute me, when lying witnesses have risen up against me, with those who plan to do me violence.

I trust I shall see the joys of the Lord in the land of the living.
Hope in the Lord, be brave, let your heart take comfort and trust in the Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Dear Conservative,
St. Lucy, please hear my prayer. You know that Conservative needs his sight in order to do everyday normal things. In your good grace, I ask you to restore his/her sight and allow him/her to return to normalcy in order to maintain his lifestyle. I ask for your interecession on his/her behalf and I thank you for listening to my prayer and for granting my request. Amen.

Also, asking for Mother Mary’s intercession.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I will pray for your intentions

God Bless,

For your intentions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

St. Lucy, please pray that Conservative’s sight be preserved. Thank you for listening to our prayers. Amen.

I will keep you in my prayers. I will send you a separate PM, but I want you to know that you are not alone. Vision loss is a horribly scary thing to deal with and goes way beyond the physical. I recommend you join a RP support group if you haven`t found one already.

I have struggled with vision issues, and I know the fear that comes with it, for me, has had a negative impact on my spiritual life, and I struggle with trusting God and depending on him to get me through everything.

I will share more in a PM, but wanted to recommend some books that may be able to help you.

Coping With Vision Loss: Maximizing What You can See or Do by Bill Chapman

Driving With Confidence: A Practical Guide to Driving With Low Vision.

I will keep you in my prayers. I will also PM you.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

God bless you - and Our Lady intercede for you all - for your prayers and support.

Oh my dear, please offer it up to God, he will help you.
Praying for you

Praying for you all my sufferings and rosaries and daily mass intentions!!

Blessed Mother pray for us and protect us!!

Father,
your son accepted our sufferings to teach us the virtue of patience in human illness. Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters. May all who suffer pain, illness, or disease realize that they are chosen to be saints, and know that they are joined to Christ in his suffering for the salvation of the world, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

O most merciful Jesus, grant me your grace, that it may remain with me always and persevere with me to the end. Grant me always to will and desire what is most pleasing and acceptable to you. Let your will be mine, and let my will always follow yours in perfect conformity with it. Let my will and desires always be one with yours;and let me be unable to will or not to will except as you will or do not will. Grant that I may die to all worldly things, and that I may be despised and unknown for love or you. Grant , above all things to be desired, that I may find rest in you, and that in your heart alone may be my peace. You, O Lord, give true peace to the heart and perfect rest to body and soul. Apart from you, all is difficult and never still. In that peace, in you who are the one, supreme and eternal Good, I will sleep and take my rest(Ps 4:9). Amen.

I am continuing to keep you in my prayers. I am enclosing a prayer to St. Jude, not because I think your situation is hopeless, but because even when we think or know there is no immediate solution, we are never alone and we always have Gods grace. With Gods grace, there is no hopeless situation. But in times of distress, I find praying to St. Jude very comforting.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

RAYER TO ST. JUDE, PATRON SAINT OF HOPELESS CAUSES
Most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly - (Here make your request) and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed Saint Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Here is one more prayer I find comforting. (especially since I am praying for eye health as well.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

PRAYER TO ST. LUCY, PATRON SAINT OF EYESIGHT
Relying on Your goodness, O God, we humbly ask you, by the intercession of your servant, Saint Lucy, to give perfect vision to our eyes, that we may serve for your greater honor and glory. And we pray for the salvation of our souls in this world, that we may come to the enjoyment of the unfailing light of the Lamb of God in heaven. St. Lucy, virgin and martyr, hear our prayers and answer our petitions. Amen.

Thank you all for continued prayers - and Maria1212 - while I had St. Jude prayer (he never seems to work for me but always has when I’ve recommended him to someone else:confused: ) - I will keep the St. Lucy prayer handy.

May God and Our Lady bless you,
