Please pray for my son--he needs emergency oral surgery!

My son, we believe, has an infection in his gums due to an impacted wisdom tooth, and we are getting him in this afternoon to see an oral surgeon. I’m a little worried about him needing to go ‘under’ as they say, so please please say a prayer for two things:

a) they can remedy this either today or tomorrow morning by pulling it and

b) that nothing goes wrong with the procedure (being sedated)

Thank you kindly for your prayers, in advance! He is in a world of pain, poor kid!!!😦 😦

Thanks guys for your prayers! I just got home a little bit ago, and my son is scheduled for the actual surgery tomorrow afternoon.

The doc wants to pull 5 teeth, all of his wisdom teeth, and the one tooth that has caused an infection:eek: My husband thinks it’s best to just do three now, plus little did we know, this oral surgeon is out of network:rolleyes: (ah the joys of insurance, and I work in the field) so the cost is higher for all these teeth. I have a fund set up, but I hesitate to take it this low, in case another one in our family gets something serious. (It’s designed to cover deductibles)

Please keep him in your prayers, especially as it relates to ‘going under’ tomorrow. Little nervous about that.:o

I can sympathize with your son - I had two wisdom teeth pulled, along with a root canal, all on the same day. I didn’t feel a thing because I was given several injections plus nitrous oxide. However, I was feeling it all that week.

I pray for your son’s smooth recovery, and may it be as pain-free as possible.

Keeping your son in prayer for surgery - praying all will go well and healing will be speedy. Keeping his doctor and medical team in prayer too…
 
Thank you everyone–today is the day! 1pm is his surgery–your prayers are soooo appreciated! I told my son I have this thread going, and he didn’t get upset (like sometimes he gets upset if I talk about him on here ha) but not last night. So, he must also be appreciative of your prayers!🙂

I’ll update you this afternoon, after the surgery. My concern is more now that he has to take these antibiotics (because of the gum infection) before the surgery, and I’m worried that on an empty stomach (he is required to not eat 6 hours before the surgery) that he will end up getting sick during the sedation.😦 I pray not. Thank you all again!:grouphug:

Actually, funny you bring up the $$$ of this ordeal. Thankfully, (God is so awesome as we know) I chose a plan where my company sets up a fund, and when you don’t visit the dr that often, that fund rolls over…so there was $3k in the fund for this procedure. I should still have about $1300 in my fund when this is all said and done, which would still be great. So NO CO PAY and no out of pocket!!!👍 I told my husband last night that we should have both been MD’s! This oral surgeon’s schedule was booked solid for over a week…!

Thx for your prayers everyone. We appreciate them. My wife wanted me to update u on how our son did today. He made it thru just fine. Think he was more nervous about it, than anything. She’ll fill u in on the details.
