He is stressed as he prepares and edits commentaries and essays for the Common application and the Supplement application for the university of his choice. It is all due by midnight tonight. My English is awful. Poor thing, he only has me to edit his work. Saint Anthony help us!

Come Holy Spirit, Creator Blest (Veni, Creator Spiritus)
Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest,
and in our souls take up Thy rest;
come with Thy grace and heavenly aid
to fill the hearts which Thou hast made.
O comforter, to Thee we cry,
O heavenly gift of God Most High,
O fount of life and fire of love,
and sweet anointing from above.

Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known;
Thou, finger of God’s hand we own;
Thou, promise of the Father, Thou
Who dost the tongue with power imbue.

Kindle our sense from above,
and make our hearts o’erflow with love;
with patience firm and virtue high
the weakness of our flesh supply.

Far from us drive the foe we dread,
and grant us Thy peace instead;
so shall we not, with Thee for guide,
turn from the path of life aside.

Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow
the Father and the Son to know;
and Thee, through endless times confessed,
of both the eternal Spirit blest.

Now to the Father and the Son,
Who rose from death, be glory given,
with Thou, O Holy Comforter,
henceforth by all in earth and heaven. Amen.

Code:
Come Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
V. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Saint Augustine of Hippo

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.

Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.

Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.

Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.

Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.

Amen.

Thanks,

Abba

Father lift the burden of stress from him, give him peace and strength to be in your will, that you be glorified in his submittance.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Lord, please help Abba’s son with his applications. May his best be good enough to get him accepted to the universities on his list. May he be enlightened by the Holy Spirit and by his guardian angel and be guided by them as he completes his applications. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Praying that your son finished his application and it is acceptable to the university …

Thank you Steven John :)the pheonix :)ready :)Anna1430 :)kevinf :)St Gabriel:) and 244rocket:) for your prayers. My sons and I were comforted knowing that there were people praying for our intentions. It really did give us support. As the clock ticked, every once in a while we checked to see if someone else posted on the thread. Thank you.

Well, the application was sent before the stroke of midnight and so it was received on time. Perhaps, some may wonder; why leave the essay writing for the last minute. My son took the time to do some deep introspection as the essay required in order to genuinely write a truthful and sincere essay. He said that he had never wondered nor questioned so persistently and so deeply about who he is and what he wants to do with his life. He contemplated and questioned for, I would say, nearly seven months. I know that this kind of exercise can be arduous but in the end it is very rewarding. He said that he is really glad he did it and as a consequence he knows himself more. I also noticed an increase in maturity and independence. The time to gather all his newly found wisdom, ideas, etc… and put it on paper was underestimated. But, in the end, it was done on time. I liked his essay, it was simple, truthful and genuine. I think best of all it offered him the opportunity to question himself and find some answers.

He still doesn’t know what he wants to major in but, he does have it down to four possibilities. He plans to take advanced courses in each of those fields and then follow his heart.

Please excuse my delay in responding, I have been really super busy. On top of my busy schedule, it turns out that he was invited to be interviewed within a week of mailing the application to the college of his choice (which is the one we have been praying for). The interview went very well - it was last week. Following the advice of Saint Francis De Sales, who recommends that we pray and present our projects. endeavor etc… to Our Lord before starting, I thought we go to the Cathedral to pray before dropping my son off for the interview. As we walked to the altar to pray we encountered a friendly priest, or so I thought he was a priest. We enjoyed a nice conversation and I soon learned that we were talking with a Bishop. He blessed my son and said something that I can truly appreciate - no matter what happens know that God has a very special plan for you.

Well, yesterday we went for a tour of the campus and it was all very nice. He still needs to take two Subject Tests on the fourth and then - we wait. We may get a reply in December or January. Please pray that he is accepted at the university he prefers and that his time there be fruitful and enriching. I am praying to Our Blessed Mother Mary that she opens the way for him and protects him during his time there. I pray specifically in this way to Our Lady, because I cannot simply ask her to clear the way for him, not knowing what may or may not happen in the future to him there, and so I pray to Our Lady that if it would not be good for him because of something that may happen in the future that I do not know to protect him against these things and help to make his entrance possible. Above all and with all sincerity, may Our Lord’s Will be done and not ours.

Thank you for your continued prayers,

Abba :byzsoc:

We received a response from my son’s top choice. It’s not totally bad. His application has been deferred to be considered with the body of the applicants for regular admission. In the letter it say that most early decision applicants are deferred and some are accepted and others rejected.

Things are still hectic around here. There are three deadlines at midnight tonight. Please continue to pray. We are comforted knowing that you are praying with us. My son is doing the best he can and is leaving the results in the hands of God.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR MY SON.

I better go now…

May God bless you all,

Love,

Abba
