Please pray for my son Dustin. He’s suffered a serious adverse drug reaction (from Levaquin) that has affected his joints, especially his knees. It could be long term or even permanent - doctors just don’t know and only time will tell.

He’s a rosary praying, scapular wearing, faithful kid. And has always been a heck of an athlete to boot. This is devastating hitting right now, his first year in high school.

Please pray for a speedy recovery for him as he’s only 14.

I’m on day 4 of a 54 day novena to Our Lady.

Peace in Christ,

DustinsDad

Being prayed for. :crossrc: If I may ask, is the drug “eating” his bones? Or am I thinking of another prescription drug?

Praying for Dustin

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Mother Mary intercede for us!

Praying very hard for Dustin. I have taken Levaquin in the past without any problems. Hope this will clear up for him!

Thank you all so much - I’ll be praying for all who are praying for Dustin. And I’ll let you all know when anything changes.

Peace in Christ,

DustinsDad

I pray that your son would not suffer anything permanent or long-term; God always has mercy for the little ones, and He always looks after them.

Thanks for all your prayers - I just wanted to drop in and let you know what’s going on so far with my son…

My wife and I began doing a 54-Day Novenafor this intention…27 days of petition prayer, 27 days of thanksgiving.

Well, a week or two after starting it we found a doctor who’s dealt with this thing before and gotten young people “out of it” so to speak. This in and of itself is a little miracle.

Well, he started a series of injections with this stuff that is aimed at protecting connective tissue and preventing further deterioration while the Levaquoin is still “in there” (in the lining of the cartildge of the kneecaps according to an MRI), and should speed up healing and reduce all the inflamation in the meantime. Amazing thing is Dustin started the shots the day after the thanksgiving prayers began - 28 days into the Novena*.*

And the novena will end three days after the last shot…The timing of it all kind of gives me goosebumps as none of this was forseen by us or planned.

Of course there’s the chance this won’t work, but there are other courses of action to take. I feel pretty confident though. It’s in the hands of the blessed Mother and Our Lord Jesus Christ. And of course in the prayers of you guys who I can not thank enough.

As of yet, there’s not much difference in the pain - but the doctor says if it’s going to work, he’ll probably start to “feel something” by about the third week (next week).

Thanks again for everything, keep the prayers coming, and God bless!
