Please pray for my very sick son, Colton

Hey everyone. Please pray for my son, Colton, who is very sick. He has an ear infection but he also has a bad cough. He’s on azithromycin for it which he started yesterday evening. He also has a feeding tube in his stomach which we use to give him Boost Kid Essentials because he has Failure To Thrive and will not eat enough to grow. Unfortunately, he has been puking a lot because of his cough. His doctor told us to reduce the amount of Boost that he gets by half to help with his puking but it’s unfortunately not helping. He’s still puking a lot. He’s already lost 2 lbs due to this illness and he could lose even more weight if we can’t keep the Boost down him. In addition, he could easily get dehydrated with all of the puking he is having. We are keeping his doctor updated and are doing everything that she tells us to do. Nevertheless, he isn’t getting better yet. I am so worried that he is going to end up being hospitalized because of this illness. Please pray for him that he would turn the corner and start getting better ASAP!

Colton went back to the doctor today. He got a nasal swab to check for RSV. He does not have RSV. He also got two shots. One was Zofran for nausea and the other was Rocephin which is an antibiotic. He will continue getting his Azithromycin every evening. She said we can use Vick’s Vapo Rub to help with his cough which is something I have been doing. She also checked to make sure that his Boost was going through his stomach by attaching a feeding tube and then suctioning out his stomach contents to make sure it wasn’t staying in his stomach. That test was fine too. We will follow up with her again on Monday with his appointment to see how his ear is doing.
 
Prayer to St. Gerard Majella for a Sick Child

O St. Gerard, who, like Our Savior, loves children so tenderly and
by your prayers freed many from disease. We ask you to listen to
all of us who are pleading for Colton. Ask Our Lord to clear his
lungs, boost his appetite, rid him of nausea, and expel all infection
from his body. Beseech Our Lord to enlighten Colton’s doctor as
to his best treatment. And beseech Our Lord to support his family
during this difficult time. Most importantly, St. Gerard, beseech Our
Heavenly Father to restore Colton to full health. These mercies,
we beg of you, through your love for all children and mothers.
Through Christ Our Lord, for whom nothing is impossible. Amen. 🙏

I’m praying for Colton. May the Lord stop him from vomiting and may He grant Colton a full recovery.

Hey everyone. Thank you so much for your prayers! I don’t really have much of an update other than to say that Colton had a good afternoon and he did not throw up at all during the time he was with me. He went home to his daddy’s apartment for the night and I don’t think he threw up there but I can’t say for certain on that as I don’t know what happened after I left.

In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed His divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Hey everyone. Thank you very much for praying for my son. He is doing somewhat better today. I have been able to give him 5 oz of Boost in his tube a couple of times today without him puking. The only problem is that he has been wanting to drink too much water and that has caused him puke mainly water up a couple of times. It has only been a little bit though thankfully. So we are basically trying to work him back into getting his full amount of Boost Kid Essentials 1.5 now.

Colton still has a bad cough but I think the medicine is working. He seems to be more playful and energetic than he was. I think he is finally on the mend. Thank you all so much for your prayers. Please keep him in your prayers. I will keep you updated.
