Praying for you and your wife…
+

*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity.
O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power.
O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.*

I’m not sure what to do now, but we had another fight again today.
I’ll post our phone conversation we’ve had since I left home to go to work:

Me:
"Sunday, I did not eat anything after breakfast. Monday, I only ate three rice balls and drank water.

Today, I had to break my fast during lunch time in order to get some nutrition to think properly for my tasks today.

I intend to go back on the fast tomorrow and friday and just eat rice and drink water those days…"

Her:
“That’s so selfish that you didn’t eat the chicken I made . And now refrigerator is empty but you don’t care because you don’t intend to eat anyway. You’re just pressuring me but more you tell me like this and force me to change something, less I want to.”

Me:
“I wanted to eat it, but I wanted you to know how much I want you to forgive at the same time.”

Her:
“Your eating habit is chaos and I don’t want to live with someone who I can’t enjoy eating meals with. After I told you, you have been so selfish and stubborn .
You think it’s right to do fasting suddenly and stop. But nobody can understand you.
Your action is not understandable.you have to act so people can understand what you are trying to say.”

Me:
"Jesus taught to fast secretly too, and I had to inform you so you knew what I was doing and would not think I forgot to take the food you made. i wanted to eat it and the food I bought from the store. I was so sad; How can I eat anything. You need to forgive. You can’t let your bitterness continue. It isn’t selfish to ask this request. Jesus even taught to forgive others and our enemies who who wrong us. The Lord’s Prayer says “Forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.” I can’t force you to forgive either.

Today, I planned my whole day around your schedule. I focused our conversation on your day and your test. We talked about your schedule for your friend’s stay. How come you didn’t ask about my fast or what my eating habbit is this week? Did you try to understand my fast or learn anything about it?"

Her:
"you can’t order me to follow the scripture .
That is so Useful for you to use verse words so people do what you want them to.
I don’t listen your words after all the things you have done .
I rather wanted to talk about what we eat instead of how you’ve been fasting.

It’s so doubtful and questioning.
You’re putting your culture to me and I had enough.

I don’t want to follow your culture, custom."

Me:
"You were baptised. You became a christian. You follow Jesus, don’t you? If you stay bitter, Satan will take advantage of it.

What do you think Pastor and our friend you look up to, (name), and others would say about letting go of bitterness and forgiving others?"

Her:
"I don’t expect you to get over it right away. It takes time. It needs healing.

I’m afraid Satan will take advantage of your anger as well. That is one reason why I am praying.

Also, read Matthew 6:14-15 and Jesus’ words.
You’re right; I failed many times before to follow christianity…
Forgiveness is the first step; We can heal the past wounds together by seeking help to deal with it. I am still your loving and faithful husband who loves, appreciates and respects you."

Yeah, so, I’m dealing with a wife who is bitter and unforgiving.
She is upset we moved to our current town and has held that against me ever since. But the really big thing she is upset about it that there were times before we were married when I discussed details about my past relationships(where I had been, done as a couple, why those relationships had failed and how I felt now about them*). I never committed any infidelity. She is hurt by talking about the past and now when I speak and talk about things I like and things I like to do and where I have been, even without me mentioning anyone, she has those thoughts in the background of her mind if I’m referring to past relationships even though I’m not and she thinks I might still have former feeings for those people (I don’t; I am full of anger and regret about being in those former relationships).

I went to the bank the other day to see if I could break my mortgage early and sell the home. It’s possible, so we might do that. Which could help, but then there is her bitterness and unforgiving heart. She doesn’t want to forgive me and says it takes time and pressuring her to forgive me is making it worse and so on.

I feel completely hopeless with a loss of control over my situation. Sure, there is counselling, but I am afraid her bitterness is going to get worse no matter what I do. I’ve already said sorry; I’ve alreay asksd for forgiveness. She won’t listen to me anymore speak from a christian point of view or take my advice.*

Sorry, I was still editing my post and it was locked due to the timer. Here is the edited version with some more details, especially about why she is upset:

But the really big thing she is upset about it that there were times before we were married when I discussed details about my past relationships(where I had been, done as a couple, why those relationships had failed and how I felt now about them*). I did that on her birthday, after I had thought she asked me what had happned to my past relationship and wanted to know about. I think she asked; She now says she never did. Nonetheless, we talked about our pasts on her birthday. She has never gotten over that and told me she would have cancelled our wedding if her parents hadn’t come. She felt already obligated to marry me. And I’m not sure if she still regrets marrying me now over that incident on her birthday, but she might. I never committed any infidelity. She is hurt by me having talked about the past when I had been with others, and now when I speak and talk about things I like and things I like to do and where I have been, even without me mentioning anyone, she has those thoughts in the background of her mind if I’m referring to past relationships even though I’m not and she thinks I might still have former feeings for those people (I don’t; I am full of anger and regret about being in those former relationships).

I went to the bank the other day to see if I could break my mortgage early and sell the home. It’s possible, so we might do that. We’d transfer the mortgage to a new one under a method called Port, and we could buy a home elsewhere.

Thank you for all your prayers. I can sense and feel that things are improving. Please continue to pray for my wife and I. I appologize for my long emotional posts the other day. I’m still open to any advice and edification from CAF members if anyone would like to say anything to me publicly or privately.

:gopray:

Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my spouse, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my spouse, fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations. Guide us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind. Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer. I love you. Amen
