Loving God,

Our friend’s brother Paul has had a massive heart attack and they are concerned that he may have lost some brain function. We lift our prayers today for Paul’s health and recovery from the heart attack and from the difficulties associated with it including his brain function. Please wrap Paul in your loving arms of healing and grant him steady improvement, in accordance with your Holy and perfect will. Please also comfort and strengthen the family members and friends who care so much for Paul and help them to weather this time with strong faith, vibrant prayer, and love and support for one another.

Update: Paul has awoken from the induced coma the doctors had him in, and he has followed directions and told his daughters how much he loves them. Thanks be to God for the progress so far!

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, the Good Shepherd of your people.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Paul P). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Paul P’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Update: Paul has been moved to a rehab facility, he continues to make very good progress.
