Hi all,

Debra Tate has been fighting to keep the Manson Family murderers that killed her sister, the actress Sharon Tate, in prison for much of the past twenty years. The killers were sentenced to life in prison but come up for parole quite frequently. For many of you familiar with the details, I don’t need to go into the particulars of that case but needless to say it was horrible event beyond words.

Debra has had a hard life, not only losing her sister in such a brutal way, but also having survived her entire immediate family. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer and cannot afford treatment.

Fox News reporter Jillian Barberie has set up a website to help fund her exorbitant medical bills. I’ll include the link below. The purpose of this thread, however, is so people will pray for her, and her recovery.

Please pray for Debra Tate!

Praying for Debra.

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

:signofcross:

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Debra Tate). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Debra Tate’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Debra Tate), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Prayer to St. Anthony for Those With Cancer

Dear St. Anthony, you recognized Our Lord Jesus as the Divine Healer. In your goodness and kindness, please intercede for Debra Tate, who is suffering from cancer. If it is God’s will, may the gift of healing be granted to him. Comfort him during times of unbearable pain, and ask our Lord to grant him peace and patience in suffering. May God give him the fullness of life here on earth. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Divine Mercy Chaplet

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

I was in the second grade when the murders took place. When the book Helter Skelter came out five or six years later, I read it. * It was really my first look at the brutality that life was capable of serving up.

Sharon Tate was so beautiful, and to think that she was with child, it was just awful. Her sister has been a faithful guardian of Sharon’s memory. I hope that Debra is able to find forgiveness, at least in her heart. That might be helpful in battling this cancer. Praying for her.*

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
~Deuteronomy 31:6

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

I lived through that awful time too, and the book and movie *Helter Skelter *really brought that tragedy home. 😦

Will pray for Debra, and add her intentions to my Rosary and Chaplet of Mercy. Pray also for the souls of Sharon and the other victims, and for the conversion of the perpetrators.

O greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness,
today all mankind calls out from the abyss
of its misery to Your mercy—to Your compassion,
O God; and it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out.
Gracious God do not reject the prayer of this earth’s exiles!
O Lord, Goodness beyond our understanding,
Who are acquainted with our misery through and through,
and know that by our own power
we cannot ascend to You,
we implore You; anticipate us with Your Grace
and keep on increasing Your mercy in us,
that we may faithfully do Your holy will
all through our life and at death’s hour.
Let the omnipotence of Your mercy
shield us from the darts of our salvation’s enemies,
that we may with confidence,
as Your children await Your final coming
  • that day known to You alone.
And we expect to obtain everything promised us
by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness.
    For Jesus is our Hope:
    Through His merciful Heart
as through an open gate we pass through to heaven.

**Good Saint Dymphna, great wonder-worker in every affliction of mind and body, I humbly implore your powerful intercession with Jesus through Mary, the Health of the Sick, in my present need. That M can stay in her home. Saint Dymphna, martyr of purity, patroness of those who suffer with nervous and mental afflictions, beloved child of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for me and obtain my request.

Thank you all for the prayers. Please, don’t stop!

Offer prayers up for Sharon’s soul too-- and of all the other victims of that horrible weekend in August 1969.
Sharon Tate was so beautiful, and to think that she was with child, it was just awful. Her sister has been a faithful guardian of Sharon’s memory. I hope that Debra is able to find forgiveness, at least in her heart. That might be helpful in battling this cancer. Praying for her.
I can’t be sure, but I believe Debra has forgiven her sister’s murderers. I heard her say, at least, in an interview that she does not bear any hatred of the murderers. That’s a big step; I don’t know if I could ever get to that mind-frame if I were in Debra’s shoes.

However, that being said, she definitely thinks the only way justice would be served is if her sister’s killers stay in prison for the rest of their lives. When you think about the actual crimes-- and again, I don’t want to go into particulars here-- and how Sharon was about two weeks from giving birth, I tend not to disagree with her.

Please continue to pray. I know Debra Tate is a devout Catholic, so this will mean a lot to her if we can keep it going.
