My daughter, Victoria, is a single parent of 2 half grown children. In December she found out she was pregnant. Her boyfriend told her if she didn’t have an abortion he was leaving her. Needless to say, he is now completely out of the picture.

When she was 17 weeks pregnant she had a partial placental abruption. Two days latter she had preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM). At the hospital she was told she must have an immediate D & E. She refused. I live 150 miles away and when I got to the hospital they were still trying to convince her. Virtually all women who PPROM are told there is NO option other than termination. My daughter tried to explain to the doctors that if the child was to die it would be naturally and not by their hand. Surprisingly they didn’t seem to grasp the moral destinction. They told her that she would almost certainly go into labor within 48 hours anyway. In the mean time my daughter was researching (Thank God for smart phones!) and found that there ARE babies born who have survived PPROM, although it is very rare…only 1 - 6%.

When she made it clear she would not terminate they told her every possible horror story. They told her that the baby also had a neural tube defect (spinabifida) and the unbiblical cord was malformed. Those two things later proved to be untrue. It is true, however, that PPROM babies often have varying degrees of birth defects. My daughter said she always thought a less than perfect child would bother her, but she realized she doesn’t care at all.

For my daughter there is a serious threat of sepsis. After being released from the hospital she had to return daily for blood work to check her white blood cell count and a sonogram to check the baby. Everyday more badgering from the doctors to abort. Last week the phlebotomist was in the room while the doctor was berating my daughter. When the doctor left the room the phlebotomist was livid. My daughter said it was OK, but the phlebotomist insisted the doctor need to be reported.

Not sure what happened, but the next day the hospital called and said they no longer had the resources to waste on my daughter. She is now going to a clinic (they didn’t want to take her either), but only gets 2 blood tests per week, which is scary because sepsis can take over so quickly. She also takes her temperature every couple hours and is taking all kinds of other precautions.

She has seen 2 perinatal specialists. Both have agreed to take her as a patient if she can reach 23 weeks (24 weeks considered the age of viability). If she can make it to 23 weeks she will be admitted to the hospital for as many weeks or months that she can keep from going into labor or going septic or developing other problems. Steps will be taken to aid both mother and child, but no one will help baby Liam before then.

My daughter is 21 weeks today! My daughter is ever the realist, but we believe Liam will at least have a chance if she can get into a hospital setting. The clinic called her tonight and said her blood test showed an elevated white count, so i am praying that she is not developing an infection.

Please pray for the life and good health of Victoria and baby Liam, and especially that this gift of God does not suffer in the days and weeks following his birth.

God bless you

Whoa, I admire her steadfastness.
Victoria and Liam will have my prayers.
I truly hope and wish that everything goes well

:signofcross:

in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti, Amen.

Pater noster, qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo.
Amen.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus
fructus ventris tui, Iesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.
Amen.

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc,
et semper, et in saecula saeculorum.
Amen.

Sancte Michael Archangele,
defende nos in proelio;
contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae Caelestis,
satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute in infernum detrude.
Amen.

in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti, Amen.

Blessed mother Mary, You know the joy of being with child and giving birth. Victoria and Liam are in danger and need you. Please be with them both and hold them close to you. Ask your son Jesus to lead their caregivers to a true understanding of You.

Hail Mary…

**Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us,
give your aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace,
console the lonely or brokenhearted,
comfort the lost or hopeless,
guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger,
and guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen **

Prayers said

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

May we be assisted, we beseech Thee, O Lord, by the worshipful intercession of Thy glorious Mother, the ever-Virgin Mary; that we, who have been enriched by her perpetual blessings, may be delivered from all dangers, and through her loving kindness made to be of one heart and mind: Who livest and reignest for ever and ever. Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me.

O God, who in Thine ineffable providence hast deigned to send Thy holy Angels to watch over us, grant to us, Thy supplicants, to be always defended by their protection and in eternity to share their joy. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Victoria, I bless you with the special blessing of our Blessed Mother. May the power of the Holy Spirit come upon you.

Liam, I bless you with the special blessing of our Blessed Mother. May the power of the Holy Spirit come upon you.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Glorious St. Michael, guardian and defender of the Church of Jesus Christ, come to the assistance of His followers, against whom the powers of hell are Unchained. Guard with special care our Holy Father, the Pope, and our bishops, priests, all our religious and lay people, and especially the children.
St. Michael, watch over us during life, defend us against the assaults of the demon while we are awake and while sleeping, and assist us especially at the hour of death. Help us achieve the happiness of beholding God face to face for all eternity. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for your daughter Victoria and her precious son Liam…

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

I am incensed that a hospital would refuse medical care to a patient. I thank God for the graces and inner strength He is pouring out upon your daughter so that she is able to stay firm. May He continue to guide her amongst so much opposition, and I hope Liam is born healthy, happy and confounds each and every one of the dire predictions.

All loving God,
you created the human family
as a reflection of your own divine life
so that your creation might share in your happiness.

Hear our prayer for your daughter
who awaits the birth of her child.
She has cooperated with you in giving life.
Assist her now as she prepares to give birth
to the child in her womb.
May Mary be her guide and support,
calming her fears and strengthening her love.

May your daughter be filled with your peace and blessing
so that she may bring her child into this world
safely and in good health to the praise and
glory of your name.

Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Dear Lord please help this mother and baby Amen

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen
