Please pray for the people of Zim

Please could you all pray for the situation and people in Zimbabwe. I recieved this email today:

"We are all terrified at what they are going to destroy next…I mean they are actually ploughing down brick and mortar houses and one family with twin boys of 10 had no chance of salvaging anything when 100 riot police came in with AK47’s and bulldozers and demolished their beautiful house-we are feeling extremely insecure right now.

Even if you send your guardian angels to be with us -that is a help but I feel so cut off from you all.
There is no way we can leave here so that is not an option. I ask that you all pray for us in the way that you know how, and let me know that you are thinking of us
To be frank with you, it’s genocide in the making and if you do not believe me, read the Genocide Report by Amnesty International which says we are - IN level 7 - (level 8 is after it’s happened and everyone is in denial).
We need you, please, to get the news OUT that we are all in a fearfully dangerous situation here. Too many people turn their backs and say - oh well, that’s what happens in Africa."

St. Augustine, born in Africa, pray for us!

St Augustine of Hippo (354 - 430)
He was born in Thagaste in Africa of a Berber family. He was brought up a Christian but left the Church and embraced the Manichaean heresy, later seeing how nonsensical it was and becoming a Neoplatonist instead. He led a wild and dissolute youth. He took a concubine by whom he had a son, Adeodatus. He had a brilliant legal and acedemic career. At length, through the prayers of his mother, and the teaching of St Ambrose of Milan, he was converted back to Christanity. He was baptized in 387, shortly before his mother’s death. He returned home to Africa and led an ascetic life. He was elected Bishop of Hippo and spent 34 years looking after his flock, teaching them, strengthening them in the faith and protecting them strenuously against the errors of the time. He wrote an enormous number of works: the Office of Readings has many extracts from them. He was declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Boniface VIII in 1308.

How very sad…I will add you and all the people of Zimbabwe to my urgent prayer list. May God’s grace, love and mercy be with you all at this horrible time.

May God touch the hearts of any law makers or authorities who can help stop this terrible occurance…may He touch the hearts of all who would toss this aside as was said. Remind us all that God’s children live in every country and are much loved by OUR Father.

Father have mercy on the people of Zimbabwe who are suffering such cruel injustice. Please send Your Holy Spirit to protect, comfort, and strengthen them. Enlighten the minds and hearts of the authorities that they may refuse to continue their inhuman acts. Send aid to those who are needy and homeless due to their activities.

I ask Your mercy, in Jesus’ name
