I like the dress of the (presumably) seminarians.

Could you elaborate on what it is that they are wearing? is it only for seminarians?

my prayers go out to them and all considering vocations

That item is a cassock which they will wear on feast days, memorials, and during the Divine Liturgy. It becomes a “habit” one day, God willing.

I will keep these five young men in my prayers and Masses. God bless you and grant your prayers and theirs, in the name of Jesus.

Best wishes, Trishie

Elaborate on the Chandean rite.

Is it an eastern rite?

Can these young men marry?

The Chaldean Church (I still dont know the distinction between a rite/church, but this might help) are Christians from the land between the Tigris and Euphrates. We are in full communion with the Catholic Church, we have our own Patriarch, recently made a Cardinal by his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI: His Beatitude Emmanuel Delly III. We speak the language of Jesus Christ as our native tongue, we received the Gospel in its native tongue, no translation necessary, by Mar(Saint) Toma(Thomas) the Apostle and his two disciples, Mar Mari and Mar Addai (2 of the 70 or 72, depending on your tradition). We have our own Christology, we love Mary, and our greatest Saint is Mar Ephrem.

you can view my diocese webpage here:

Here is a short introduction to the Chaldean Catholic Church:

The Chaldeans and other Christians are suffering in Iraq. Recently, terrorists Muslims have killed our beloved Archbishop, Father Paulos Faraj Rahho.

You can read the Liturgy here. We recieve by intinction, veils are common among the ladies, and thats all i can do now.

In the Chaldean Church, it is possible to be a priest and be married, although, you would need to have gotten your calling to be a priest after you got married. I think i saw a number that like 5% of our priests are married.
