Hi everyone,

Please pray for these beautiful young women:

http://kaldu.org/2008/05/001_JPG.jpg

They’ve recently made their two year novitiate vow in the Western US Chaldean eparchy, in the religious congregation called the Workers of the Vineyard. The one on the right is Sister Miskenta Mariam, and the one on the left is Sister Tarbytha Mariam.

More info. on them here: kaldu.org/2008/05/May16_08E1.html

Thanks and God bless,

Rony :gopray2:

On May 15, 2008, two young women, Reem Salman and Rana Raban made their two year novitiate vow in the Diocesan religious congregation of the Workers of the Vineyard. At a ceremony celebrated by Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, Reem and Rana made vows according to the constitution of the congregation. They were also vested in the Workers of the Vineyard novitiate habit and became Sister Miskenta Mariam (Reem) and Sister Tarbytha Mariam (Rana). The ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception in the church hall. Our deepest gratitude to all of those who came to support our new sisters as they embark in their new way of life.

Praise God always.

Our Lady of the Fields, pray for us!

Interesting. I didn’t know anything about the Chaldean religious orders. Are there are any others aside from this particular congregation?

There is one simply called Chaldean Sisters, which has two or three here in Phoenix.

The video is now up:

You can go to the 19th minute to see when they put their veils on. From my perspective, and the rest of the congregation, it was very different. Pretty much the entire church gasped when they flipped their veils and became nuns.

If that above link doesn’t work, just go to kaldu.org/WeeklyNews.html and its on the front page.

Just a correction, the name of the order of “Chaldean Sisters” is called the “Chaldean Daughters of Mary Immaculate.”

These Sisters are very widespread with their Motherhouse being in Baghdad. The convent here in Detroit has 9 Sisters and there are two girls in their 20s who are discerning their vocation with them as well.

As for other Chaldean Orders, there are the Sisters of the Heart of Jesus (Liba’d Esho) who are in Iraq and were founded by a bishop there a while back. There are also Chaldean Rite Dominicans who are also in Iraq as well.

I’m very happy and thankful for Sr. Miskenta Mariam and Sr. Tarbytha Mariam’s vocations and I’m so happy that there is another option for Chaldean women discerning religious life in the United States. These Sisters are always in my prayers and God willing they will get many more vocations to their order! 🙂

Maryam33,

Welcome to the Forum! 👋

I’m currently visiting San Diego, and have been interacting with the Sisters. They’re friends of mine, and are so very much in love with Christ ❤️

I too pray that more Workers will join the Vineyard of the Lord 🙂

God bless,

Rony

Thank you for your welcome, Rony!

I am also very good friends with the Sisters. They truly set an edifying example for the entire community and especially for young women.

I hope you enjoy your stay in San Diego!

God bless!

Maryam

Thanks for telling me. All I could see on the English page of the Chaldean Church’s web site was simply “Chaldean Sisters.”

Two women discerning the religious life…taking their one year vow today @ St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Church under Mar Sarhad Jammo

On Friday, May 15, 2009, on the Feast of Our Lady of the Fields, the Diocesan Congregation of the Workers of the Vineyard welcomed two new members to their community. Mande Betty, 21, and Madlain Arabo, 19, promised to dedicate a year of their lives to the service of the Church in the Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle. The two postulants made their promises at the mass celebrated by Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo in honor of Our Lady’s feast. Following the mass, Mande and Madlain were welcomed by the entire community at a small reception in the hall. May God bless and keep these two new members of His Vineyard, please remember them in your prayers.
