There is a young man in my parish whom I have been watching for a number of years. He is an altar server and I have always been impressed with how devout he is; not just on the the altar.
He is 18 now and in his first year of college. He wanted to go to Stubuenville, but he received a full scholarship closer to home and he accepted.
His school was out for Spring Break last week and instead of going to the beach like most of his classmates, he was here serving at all the Holy Week services.
I finally talked to him after the Easter Vigil Saturday night to ask him how school was going. He said it was going well but he was thinking of transfering to Franciscan U. to study Philosophy. But he was worried about money. He’s the oldest child and his mother is currently pregnant with #8 so his parents will not be able to help him financially.
I took the opportunity to tell him I had always thought he would make a wonderful priest. I was overjoyed when he told me he has an application for the seminary on his desk at school.
Please keep him in your prayers!
