I don’t differentiate between pagan religions. A common statement by Wiccans is that what they are doing is ‘white witchcraft’. I think they are deluded.

Sorcery is sorcery. Magic is an attempt to gain occult power beyond your spiritual station. This power can easily come from demons, which bear the names of old gods or fallen angels. Catholic exorcists warn against dabbling even in things like tarot cards and horoscopes. They can be the gentle start to a headlong slide to Hell.

I think it would be very interesting to collate stories of nurses, doctors, psychiatrists and priests about their contact with people who’ve dabbled in ‘new age’ religions.

By their works shall ye know them, whether Rush Limbaugh or Anton LaVey or Ms. WitchyPoo at the local vegan cafe: What happens to the people around them? What effect are they having on the world? Would you be happy to invite them to dinner with your parents?

I read about this in our local newspaper this morning. My question is are they actively practicing homosexuality or are they celibate with same sex attraction? Because I believe that it’s not wrong(sinful) to be a homosexual, just to be sexually active or promote that lifestyle. What is the situation? The newspaper article didn’t say ( of course it was a secular article so I question the accuracy of any of its information) .
Regardless, I will pray for the Anglican Church and the conference.

:gopray2:
That is also my understanding, the orientation is not a sin just acting on it

They have to obey scripture just like the rest of us must…We can’t pick ans chose what we will obey

I am also praying for you…It is sad for people to try to destroy a religion for forbiding sin

Neither Wiccans nor Asatru are Satanists, so this statement makes no sense.

Obviously all error and sin work in Satan’s favor. But it is spiritually dangerous to single out particular errors and sins and say that people afflicted with them are “ministers of Satan.”

I am tempted to that think Rush Limbaugh is a minister of Satan because he promotes greed and violence and scoffs at charity. I think he is a far more serious enemy of orthodox Christianity than these homosexual priests. But I recognize that that’s because I happen to be particularly concerned about the evils he represents. I recognize that good Christians can disagree with me.

The Gospel lesson for this past Sunday should give us all pause. Anticipating God’s judgment is a very bad idea.

Edwin
It makes perfect sense. Both Wiccans and Asatru are openly preaching against Christian doctrine, Christian morality, and Christian living - because they openly reject Christianity.
The fact that they don’t call themselves “satanists” is rather irrelevant. It is him they serve.

These “non-bishops” (cf 2Ma 4:13) are openly preaching against Christian doctrine, Christian morality and Christian living - but openly claim to be Christians. If anything, the latter are worse than the former.

I do not know who Rush Limbaugh is or what he stands for, so I will not go into an argument over him.
But I WILL say that your credibility in my book has taken such a loss from your defence of this “increase of heathenish manners” (again 2Ma 4:13) that I cannot accept blindly what you say about him.

Yes, Christians can disagree on various issues and still be Christians and recognize eachother as such. Most definately!
But to a limit!
Or would you also say that openly practising paedophiles should be priests and bishops, and that the Church should seek to “further the rights” of paedophiles, and accept systematic paedophile rape as legitimate relationships - or even marriages?
I don’t think you mean that.
Both paedophilia and homophilia are abominations, to be shunned and fought most vigorously by not only Christians (but especially us!) but by all sane people.

ALL Christians have know the exact same truth for 2000 years about homophile practise (that it’s a sin, and that we should fight it as such), and what? These blind fools have just learned something that means that all Christians through the last 2000 years were wrong?

(Yes, I am very much aware that I seemed to have argued the cause of the RCC against various Protestant churches, but I assure you I have not. For an explanation - start a new thread and I will answer. Please don’t derail this one!)

Would you be happy to invite them to dinner with your parents?
That last one is not always a good indicator. I don’t think that many people would have invited the Apostles to dinner with their parents.

And NO, NO, NO! I am NOT comparing the Apostles to Wiccans, Asatru, etc. I am merely saying that the “Would you invite him/her to dinner with your parents” indicates whether they conform to “accepted” social norms and expectations of your family, then whether their practices are good or evil.

My question is are they actively practicing homosexuality or are they celibate with same sex attraction?
They are practicing. I agree with you. A lot of married men are atracted to other women but if they opoenly commited adultery, would they be ordained?

Nonsense. They’re human beings just like the rest of us. They aren’t engaging in some Satanic plot to destroy the Church. They are simply fighting for what they understand as the true Gospel of inclusion and dignity.

Demonizing those with whom we disagree does not further the cause of Christ.

Edwin
Yes they are human beings just like the rest of us. Do you think we should ordain practicing adulterers too?

It is a Satanic plot. The gates of Hell will not prevail against Christs Church but they are having a good try. Destroy the third biggest denomination in the world and you’ve destroyed a huge chunk of Christs Church.

Edwin, wake up!

They know it’s not the true gospel. They know Church history but ignore it. They know what The Bible says but they’ve thrown it out.

Letting the forces of darkness have a good laugh while so called men of God do their bidding does not further the cause of Christ either

Wake up and strengthen the things that remain.

I’m pretty sure that the CC has been praying for you people since the 1520’s. Your leaders are just plain stubborn. They still think that the HS is leading them. Now what? Need more proof?

What kind of prayers are you asking?
The only answer I know is for you to CONVERT NOW to true Catholicism!
Shame The pope doesn’t agree with you at this time.

Of course some in ECUSA are not being lead by The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit inspired men to write The Bible and God doesn’t change his mind.

Not to second-guess your choice of words, but are you quite sure that “ministers of Satan” is the phrase you meant to use?
I meant what I said.

They’re hardly ministers of The Lord who speak against what he says in his book.

Do they know they are ministers of Satan?

I don’t know.

Rush Limbaugh is not in The Church and claiming to be a minister of Christ. These people are beiing used by Satan to destroy The Church from within it. Still The gates of Hell will not prevail.

You find that they all discovered that the dabblers were all mentally damaged.

Mental damage can lead to physical ailments.

The preists would also acknowledge that they were spiritually damaged too.

In short, Christ looks after us physically, mentally and spiritually and Satans crew wrecks people physically, mentally and spiritually.

Amen.

That’s the crunch.

According to these heretics, God who does not change has gone from saying stone people who do this to saying that it is a gift from him!

God made man in his own image and these idiots are trying to return the favour.

East Anglican,
I totally feel your pain. We were Episcopalian for 20 years. Brought our children up in that church, sent our children to their schools - the whole nine yards.
Betrayed by “ministers of Satan”? You bet - although those folks do not know what they do, they are still purveyors of sin.
I’ll pray for orthodox Anglicans, but I think they should do as we did - jump ship and swim the Tiber as fast as possible to the one true Church.

I don’t know.
I don’t know anything about that, but we have a TEC minister-priest here in the USA (Reverend Ann Holmes Redding) that is a Muslim, and doesn’t see that as a problem!

She was given three months by her bishop to think it over, that time has come and now as I understand it she has been given another three months.

There was a husband and wife team of minister-priests in TEC in Pennsylvania who were druids a few years ago. I don’t have anything current on that one.

I’d rather be bold and stand firm than run away from the battle.

Of course the battle belongs to The Lord.

The second highest number of Anglicans is in Nigeria. Northern Nigeria has Islamic fundamentalists. What took place in New Hampshire put a lot of Christians lives at risk. This is why Nigerian Anglicans came out so strongly agianst it.

Another problem is that Gene Robinson and crew are fundamentalists. They’re only interested in their heretical point of view and don’t care about the consequences.

She is definitely a minister of Satan. The problem is that JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD!

It’s ridiculous!

Barmy!

Thanks for telling me how bad the Anglican Church is in America.

Now I’ll tell you a story.

An Anglican ‘priest’ in the next diacese to mine siad from behind the pulpit that he doesn’t believe in God. A member of the congregation reported this to their Bishop. The Bishop imediately relieved the ‘priest’ of his duties.

The ‘priest’ went to an industriel tribunal claiming unfair diimissal. Fortunately, the judge had a brain and told tghe ‘priest’ that he was not qualified for the job as priest. 😃

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
