Hi, Please can we pray for someone in my life who is very angry with God right now and is rapidly losing faith.I pray his heart will be softened. I’d really appreciate your prayers for this person. Big big thankyous to you all .xxx

I sure will. Unfortunately I know people in the same situation. But keep hope in The Lord. Prayer can change so many things. I found in these situations if you kind of back off it helps. Dont try to change them or preach to them because it will fuel their anger. If you don’t give them anything to debate it defuses them. And then by your example, when the time is right, God will touch them. That was true for me anyway. I pray that it will be for you also.
 
For your doubting friend, I will say an Act of Faith. May the Lord comfort him in his current circumstances and, according to His will, guide his soul to greener pastures!

O MY GOD, I firmly believe that Thou art one God in Three Divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I believe that Thy Divine Son became Man, and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

O Heavenly Father, we continue in prayer for this friend and all those who are discouraged on their journeys in faith. In your mercy, grant us the grace of wisdom to know thy will and the courage to carry it out in our lives. We ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Isaiah says, “I was thinking: ‘I have toiled in vain, I have exhausted myself for nothing.’ And all the while my cause was with God, my reward with my God.” [Isaiah 49:3-4] For “the Lord is not being slow to carry out His promises…but He is being patient with you all, wanting nobody to be lost and everybody to be brought to change his ways.” [2Peter 3:9]

Faith under siege
In prayer for this person in your life:
Eternal God, when my spirit has burned to ashes, ground to dust with a boulder of mute and heavy sorrow, please give me trust in Your personal love for me.

When mine, or others’ mistakes or uncaring have wounded and savaged my heart, where are You to restore what is injured even when I plead for Your intervention and strive to heal the damage? And yet, though You seem absent, I still humbly cry out for Your mercy and healing.

When my efforts leave me helpless with no path left to try, please comfort me and show me a new path.

When others undermine with repeated assaults and short-circuit my resolve, send wise friends to comfort and support me. For no sooner has one problem and heartache eased or resolved than another, equally painful, arises for another or myself.

I seek You but sometimes am left to feel You are heartlessly steeled against me and my life becomes a flat salt desert. Please help me to trust in You even then, when trust no longer seems possible.

My heart cries out repeatedly, groping in the helplessness of fears, disappointments and grief that words cannot convey; screaming in the silence of my brain.

Yet still I call on You and place my tatters of faith in You.
 
I have a co worker who is dealing with this very problem…his family is in my daily prayers…I pray the the Holy Father gives your friend the Grace Peace and Comfort that only He can provide to see your friend through these difficult times…

O my Jesus, you offered your peace to the Apostles, and through your very life, death, and resurrection, you secured for us the rewards of eternal life with the Lord! We thank and praise you for this gift. As you know, it is not always easy to honor this gift. Indeed, one only needs to recall the martyrs of your Church to know this truth. We know and accept that we will suffer on our spiritual paths. We hope and pray that you will walk with all of us on our paths. Look upon your discouraged friends with love and mercy. Amen.
