From the Novena of Saint Bernadette Soubirous
O dear little St. Bernadette, humble little shepherdess, who wonderingly beheld the Lovely Lady of the Grotto, pray for us to our Lady of Lourdes that she may heal us of our ills. St. Bernadette, pray for the sick and the afflicted.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!

PATER NOSTER, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
AVE MARIA, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.’
GLORIA PATRI, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Lord, guide the hands of each surgeon as they perform their surgeries and heal each patient in mind, body and spirit as they leave their operating tables. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

My wife’s mother just had surgery on her foot. She is diabetic and this is a very tricky procedure. She seems to have come through the surgery well, but the recovery and the road ahead toward a pain free foot are in doubt.
God Bless and heal those who are having surgeries and procedures. Comfort them in recovery and may they be consoled when they are lonely or worried. Hospitals can be a cold and lonely place - even if you have visitors. Jesus, we trust in You!
