Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. .

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

I think many of the regular members might know out situation - if not, you can search for threads called “not in love anymore.” Things are very bad, and after years of honestly trying on my part, it became evident that he would not give up the very disordered behaviors he was embracing and it became bad for our children.

Please pray for him. He was having suicidal thoughts, and now they think he might have bipolar disorder. He really is very disturbed and needs mental and spiritual help. I am riddled with guilt and very upset.

It has been a while since things began to go terribly amiss and I am really so sorry that things have just continued to unravel for your husband, which has added more sorrow upon sorrows & pain upon pain for you & your young family. Sin’s power to cloak itself is in its deception so at least the enemy of man is out in the open and you no longer have to worry about the lies & deception. Unfortunately when patterns of sin are firmly established the result is really a trainwreck and just about impossible from a human perspective to pick up the pieces and restore it. Sins can tear up the human soul and can be so insideous, not only for the one caught in its snare but also hurtful and so damaging for everyone else around them. I know you know this already but I will say it anyway to ensure the proper spiritual perspective as St. Paul taught. "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. - Eph 6:12 There really is true warfare and combat going on here and truly one can gain ground or lose ground, but it is all in the spiritual realm and against an enemy that is a spiritual thief. Just as St. Paul again says, **“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.” 2Cr 10:3 **
1John 3:8 tells us that the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. Medications may help physically but spiritually the prayer of faith is the sure weapon. One of the things I love most about the Lord was the spiritual warfare He pursued. Nothing demonic could ever stand before Him, for in His presence every single evil power set against God was completely cast out. There are no exceptions in the Gospel. It didn’t matter if the person was good or bad in Jesus presence every evil spirit fled before Him as darkness is overcome by light. They were simply not allowed to abide anywhere near His presence! Sin’s power in man was also broken in His presence as well. What truly happened in detail when those men were about to stone the woman caught in adultery we do not exactly know but we do know that suddenly every man was conscious of his sin for the Lord said, **‘He who is without sin cast the first stone’ **& not a one of them could. And how many turned from their sin to Him when they understood the presence that was before them? Even Saint Peter himself, when He realized he was in the presence of the Christ said, ‘depart from me Lord for I am a sinful man’. But Jesus had mercy on him and He certainly did not depart from Peter. Neither did he depart from the others for He said to them, **“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17 ** Jesus spoke to them again: In all truth I tell you, I am the gate of the sheepfold. All who have come before me are thieves and bandits, but the sheep took no notice of them. I am the gate. Anyone who enters through Me will be safe: such a one will go in and out and will find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down His life for His sheep. - John 10:7-11. It is then the presence of the Lord that we all need as we also all know He has the power to save and the power to heal, not just from every wound, no matter how deep, but even from death. What a hope we have in Jesus! Heavenly Father You know how thise sin has become so insideous, as to tear this family apart with its destructive patterns. Father I ask your protection over Becca and her children and I ask that You would bind up their wounds as only You can. Father I also ask in the Name of Your Son, Jesus, that You would break the chains of self deception and unnatural behaviors in this man’s soul. Father, let the manifest presence of Your Holy Spirit break the hold on this man and drive the destroying thief into the abyss. Father I pray for Your good and ever present help. Help our unbelief Lord that we may hold steadfast in prayer and await Your rescue in Jesus Name. Amen

Don’t feel guilty Becca, many ppl in this world have bipolar depression. As long as God provides the care he needs, and the staff at the hospital provide him with good treatment, there is nothing saying he can’t make a full recovery and be fully functioning again. We will pray for both you and your ex.
