Please pray that my son, Colton, would be healed of an issue which could kill him

Hey, everyone. Thank you very much for your prayers. Anyway, we take him back to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis tomorrow. We are going to go ahead and ask them to do the feeding tube but we want the surgical one and not the nasal one. The reason being because we know the nasal one would be traumatic to him. Riley Hospital wanted us to do the nasal feeding tube before but we didn’t give them permission because we didn’t want to terrorize our son. We have a recommendation letter from his primary care doctor recommending the surgical feeding tube to take with us. Please pray that Riley Hospital would cooperate with us and allow him to have the surgical feeding tube. We do not want our son to be traumatized with a nasal feeding tube every single day for who knows how long.
 
Holly,
Prayers still for your family and your little one. Can you get a second opinion from another Children’s Hospital if the doctors at the first hospital disagree with your own pediatrician’s recommendations? I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you. To give you some encouragement: there is a family at church with a child who has the same condition. The toddler has a surgical feeding tube and is doing well, so there is hope and help. God bless.

Hey, everyone. I have another update for you. We took Colton back to Riley Hospital for two appointments. One was with the Pediatric Gastroenterologist and the other was a doctor who specializes in the development of children. Anyway, Colton will be going back up to Riley Hospital on Friday to have a feeding tube surgically installed in his stomach. He will have to stay up there for a couple of days for recovery and such. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Hey everyone. Colton had pictures of his upper GI tract taken yesterday and we are on our way to Riley hospital for his surgery now. I will update you all later. Thanks for your prayers.

Colton’s surgery went well. He has to stay in the recovery room by himself for a little while and then we can go see him. They didn’t find anything abnormal.
 
Awesome, Holly. So very glad. I do believe Jesus has a special place in his heart for children and certainly Our Lady does as well. God bless you, your baby and your family.

Yeah I also believe that. I did forget to mention that the results of his upper GI that he had yesterday shows that he has some reflux. I just hope it is not a chronic problem. I have Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease and my mom also has it I believe so it may be hereditary.

Anyway, he has to stay the night at the hospital tonight but he should be able to go home tomorrow. He is sleeping a lot today.
 
Needing lots of sleep after surgery is normal. Surgery and recovery take lots of energy.
I am so glad that Colton’s surgery went well. Praise God!!!
