Please pray that my wife will accept counseling

I want my wife to go to some psychological counseling, as her behavior is causing a lot of stress and grief to me and the kids. She has some kind of deep emotional issues, but I think she doesn’t want to admit that she needs help. I have located some psychologists who speak her native language, it would require some travel but I believe it’s worth it.

I am asking for prayers that she will be willing to give this a try. Thank you.

Prayer to St. Christina the Astonishing

St. Christina, you are one of those saints that baffle the mind. Even in your own lifetime, people didn’t know what to make of you. They thought you possessed, insane, or in league with the devil. Only a few people saw through the astonishing to the holy Christina underneath. You were holy not because of the bizarre feats you underwent, for your levitation, or for smelling sin on people. You were holy because of your love for other people. When faced with the joy and peace of heaven, you chose to go back to earth to suffer for the souls in Purgatory. You prayed for them, sacrificed for them, and endured ridicule for their sake. Your holiness came from your willingness to follow God’s will in your life, no matter the cost of reputation.

Saint Christina, we could all use your spunk and your willingness to appear a fool for God. Pray for us that we may listen and discern God’s voice in our souls, and that we implement His will no matter what befall us. I especially ask you to remember today all those who are mentally ill, the souls in Purgatory, and for the intentions posted here today. May some of your liveliness and tenacity descend on us for the glory of God. Amen.

I think she may think there is a stigma, let her know that seeking out ‘experts’ like a therapist who may be helpful in stress management or other coping skills is not weakness but a sign of strength and wisdom.

Lord Jesus, we ask that this wife hears her husband plea for her to undergo counseling so that she may return to the role of nurturer for her family. We pray that this counselor is able to help her work through whatever issues are blocking her from bringing peace and stability to her husband and children. Amen
