Hi everyone. I received a phone call this morning from a guy who wanted to date me but I didn’t want to date him. He then said something sexual to me and I hung up on him. Then later, I was at a neighbor’s apartment and I was leaving and one of the guys that work here was out in the hall. He also made a sexual gesture towards me. Please pray that these sexual advances and gestures would stop as it is really bothering me. Thanks.

I will certainly pray for you - in the mean time, call the police and let them know you are being harassed by this person. You may need this later if he doesn’t stop and you need to request a personal protection order.

May God keep you safe in His angel’s care.

Thank you Liza. I don’t think I am going to call the police just yet though. I will if it escalates though.

Yes, it was two different guys. That is why I am hesitant to call the police.
Right. Can’t call the police for that.

One phone call isn’t harassment.

If he calls again, say clearly and forcefully, without any anger: Do not call me again. (click).

If the first guy calls again, tell him not to call you again and hang up. If he doesn’t call again, problem solved. If the calls continue, begin a log keeping track of day, time, content of each unwanted call. Then call the police to report harrassment and see if they can help you.

Ignore the second guy and any other guy who makes comments in kind.

SwizzleStick & Mercygate:

I think you’re right about the phone calls - These people (I’m watching my language) usually call to get a reaction & then “get-off” on the reaction. A calm, firm, “Don’t call again.” followed immediately by the click of the hang-up is usually the best way to handle these “children of God” - That way they doesn’t get any reaction. Any further calls are indications of a more serious problem, which will probably require the assistance of the police, lawyers, etc…

Remember, Protection Orders really don’t do that much good, but they do help if someone escalates and you have to call the police to have him/her “removed”, or if he/she breaks in to your house.

The second one may often have some of the same dynamic - except there are some comments that are so crude that I feel require a, “How would you like it if someone talked to your sister or wife like that?” Or a, “Is this something you’d want your mother or your priest (if you see the ‘gentleman’ wearing a cross) to hear you saying?”

Sometimes, men need to be shamed into decent behavior. That’s why I’m not opposed to the “good old-fashioned” slap on the face if the situation warrants it. Either way, documenting comments if they seem to come from a particularly persistent and crude individual is not a bad ideal.

Prayer to St. Michael Archangel

Holy Michael Archangel, defend us in Battle,
Protect us from the wickedness and snares of the Devil,
May the Lord rebuke him, we humbly pray,
And, do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
By the power of God, thrust into hell
Satan, and all of the evil spirits who wander the world,
Seeking the ruin of souls.

**Amen.

**Sacred Heart of Jesus,
Have Mercy on Me.
3x
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I put my whole trust in you.
10x

**Memorare

***Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. * *
*
*Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. *

Amen.

I hope this helps.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

Praying for you. Asking for special graces for your situation, merited by Our Lord during His scourging.

Holly3278, you are welcome to use the line I use when I get merchandising calls:

“I’m sorry. I do not accept telephone solicitations.” (click)

If someone has created this problem for Holly behind the scenes, please reveal and vanquish their efforts, Father, in Jesus’ name. Please let her record any evidence from eyewitnesses or with technology, so that she has evidence that she can give police, as these behaviours are assault on her peace and possible safety.

Please protect Holly from unwanted advances. Please keep her safe, Father, in Jesus’ name.
