I desperately need prayers tonight for myself and my son. He is 20 years old. He has a problem with drugs. Previously he has done some of the worst drugs available. To my knowledge lately he has “only” been smoking marijuana. Don’t get me wrong. I hate all of it and want him to quit. However, the marijuana pales in comparison to some of the things in the past.

He came in tonight and it is obvious he has either taken something or been doing something. He was very slurry and sleepy and I’m scared to death. He is in his room asleep now and I know I will be up for a couple of hours at least to make sure he is breathing as crazy as it sounds. He had a friend who died of a heroin overdose and I am so scared of him going to sleep and not waking up due to something he has done or taken.

Please just pray with me for both of us to get through the night and for God to free him from this ****. I don’t want to turn him out and probably would not have the heart to do it if I wanted to. He has overall been doing well and working, etc. However, this is taking a toll on my sanity and I don’t know what to do. Other than to pray.

Please don’t get the wrong idea. Other than these horrible drugs, he is a sweetheart. Kind, loving, compassionate, handsome, etc. Just seems to be having a hard time growing up and an addiction problem.

Thanks so much in advance for your prayers. I’m scared senseless to be honest and can use all I can get. My husband (his stepfather) is out on the road (truckdriver) and I am all alone with this tonight.

Lord, give her the strength she needs.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. Amen.

Praying for you and your son.

Eternal Father, look upon the Sacred Heart of Jesus which we offer to you as a vase, that it might receive the wine of Your Justice, so that in passing through this Holy Channel Your Justice may be changed for us into the Wine of Your Mercy!

Eternal Father, We offer You the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls.

Praying God Blessings on you and on all.

For your son:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Venerable Matt Talbot, please pray for Lily’s son.

You and your son are in my prayer. Please pray the Rosary for him.

Heading off to morning Mass soon. Will keep you and your son in my prayers.

I am so sorry that you are going through this difficult time, I am praying for both you and your son…

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

You may be alone, but I think you have a lot of prayerful company. “Amen” to your prayers. Please God answer the prayers of this mother’s heart.

Just wanted to update you all and thank you for your prayers. Please continue praying. My son is still asleep but I can hear him breathing so I assume he is okay. I am going to try and talk to him today about all of this but have no idea of what reception I’ll get. I am just praying that he will get free of these horrible drugs and live a good and happy life. St. Monica seems to be my constant companion for the last several years. I’m still trusting in her assistance.

I stayed up a couple of hours last night to keep checking on him and felt such a sense of peace after just a little bit. I am sure it was knowing that I had all of you praying with me. I was actually able to get a decent night’s sleep myself. Thanks so much!

And coincidentally, my husband had a load that put him about 20 miles from home overnight and I was so happy to know that he was nearby just in case he was needed. Thankfully he wasn’t.

Amie
