I have a concern similar to yours. I am asking God to let me know in ways I understand if Bill is the man He has set aside for me. There are some legal difficulties I am dealing with (which do not concern Bill) but which could potentially derail a future for me and him. I am praying it gets resolved so I can discern without any distractions God’s plan for Bill and me.
