First of all, I know that most of you all here know that I am protestant, but I do believe we are all christians and I wanted some praying christians and I know some of you here are some of the Godliest praying people I know.
Today I recieved my third phone call in three days about people I know that their marriages are ending. I am a divorced person and as most know remarried to a Catholic. I know that it is not Gods will at all for a marriage to end and my soul aches for these poor people and their families. I mean divorce is not just an ending to two people, it does truly affect two whole families and also friends. Anyway, the first couple I found out about have been married for about 9 years, have two kids and were actual worship leaders at a local church. He is one of the most talented men I know and has a God given talent to ministry and has given it up now because of the failure in his marriage. The second couple, she left him probably about 6-8 months ago. He was a minister of a church in Illinois. She started having an affair and so he lost his church and we were informed Sunday at church that he had a heart attack and died. He was only 45 years of age. He had three children. The third couple I just found out today about, have been married for 21 years and he just all of the sudden left. They have two children. Not sure what went wrong and really the details don’t matter to me, as that is not what is important.
Anyway, I am so upset. I feel this is an attack by evil on the family. I think satan knows if he can break the bonds of marriage and a family that he can do a lot. I think the he knows that the family is the church. When I say church, I am not meaning a religion over the door, I am meaning christians…the protestants and Catholics alike. So if he can break up the family, then he is taking down the church, the people of God. Lord have mercy.
Anyway, just please pray with me for these familes. Of course we will be burying Tony (the one who passed away) tomorrow at 2:00 and as far as his marriage goes, it is over. But I just want his seperated wife remembered. She obviously needs a lot of prayer and will probably be going through a lot of guilt and etc. in the next few months. I don’t think God expects us to stay this way, but sometimes as humans we put ourselves through more. Gosh, I could go on and on. I have just really been on edge the last three days about this. Makes me wonder if anybodys marriage is safe without a lot of guarding and prayer. So please join with me to pray for this matter, as I said, I know so many of you are wonderful praying people and I have grown to respect so great.
