One suggestion that has worked for my dh and me- is it possible you could volunteer to help as an usher or greeter at one of the masses? My husband recently started doing this. He greets people as they come in, helps to seat latecomers, passes the collection basket, then hands out bulletins as people are leaving, smiles and tells them to have a great day.
Now I join him at the end of mass as he is handing out the bulletins. All of a sudden, people know who we are and we are on first name basis with several people we never would have got to know otherwise. We are getting invited to get involved in other church activities and no longer feel like the invisible couple in Pew 13
It’s a simple thing, but it’s working!
