I think it is time for your to look into getting professional help for your friend. You will be doing her a favor and yourself a favor.

I have a special needs child. I was able to recognize that my son needed help. I knew I had done all I could for him, and then we brought in professionals to help him. He is making progress because of that. We did it early on, but it has taken years for him to get to the point that he is in today. The help of professional and prayers to Our Lord have helped our boy. We have sadly watched as parents have not gotten their children the help that they need because they believe that they can help their child. A parent, even if they were the best in the field of whatever help their child needed, would not be able to help their child as an objective professional would.

My thought is that the Lord put health professionals on His green earth for a reason, and the miracle you wish for will be found when you let professionals intervene for your friend. Please call your local health facility, and ask to speak with someone in their psychiatric unit. Your friend will find the help she needs from a professional.

I will continue to pray for you and your friend. I trust in God that all will turn out well.

Heavenly Father, in faith, I thank You for the miracle You are already performing for these two friends. Amen.

Please let us know what happens. First thing, though, pick up the phone, and call the psychiatric unit of your local health institution. She absolutely needs their help.

I need to hear that. I guess I am not focusing on Jesus as I ought to. If I was, I would be at complete peace. I posted at a very, very weak point. I can only look to Jesus on the Cross and pray.

I did have a much more relaxing day today. I saw my Spiritual Director and had a great discussion with him. I am blessed for having him in my life. Life looks much brighter tonight.

Thanks so much for your advice. I did bring this up with my conversation with my Spiritual Director. My friend knows the phychiatric numbers. I have given her the numbers. I have told my friend that I am praying for her and others are praying for her as well.

Things just roller coaster. One day she’s doing fine and the next day she is in the depthes of despair so to speak. My friend is talking to her priest now and the priest is helping out as well. I do not wish to interfere with the priest that she is working with. I have counseled her to do what the priest counsels, becuase one cannot get burned by following counsel.

I am just so thankful that my friend is talking to her priest about things. And from what I understand that priest is very understanding and a God-send in her life. If the priest counsels her to call the health professionals, I will concur, but by God’s grace I wish not to contravene his counsel, for after all he stands in the person of Christ.

If the priest was not involved, I probably would be calling a health profession and getting some help on this. But, I believe that if her spiritual life can come to be at peace, then the rest will follow. However, I will talk with my friend and mention that getting help from a counselor would not come amiss at all, I will just recommend that the counselor be a member of the Church who is in full support of the Magisterium.

You are not rambling, and it appears that you have a good handle on the situation ----- you are doing the best anyone can possibly do. My concern had been that (and please pardon my nosey bodiness) you were trying to save her to the detriment of your own health. As I mentioned, I have a special needs son. I have watched with sadness as parents try to help their special needs children to the detriment of their own health/sanity/marriage/etc. You clearly understand that you help the person as best you can, but you leave the rest to the professionals and God. Oh no I did not think you were nosy at all, in fact I saw it otherwise, as a post written by someone who cares very much about me. If anything I saw what you wrote as a wake-up call for me because I need to realize that if things do go for the worse, then it is not my fault and I won’t have to live with the guilt. I am praying that it will not go this way. I also needed the wake-up call to not let it get to that point where I am sacrificing my health and stuff like that to my detriment. I believe that I might have been starting down that road, I have been up nearly every night for the last four monthes. It’s hard to lie down and sleep, because I never know if the phone is going to ring or worse, if I am going to go to sleep and the next morning my friend is not there.

Oh it is so hard to let go and Let God, so easy to write and say, but so hard for me to do at times.

I am having to leave town and will be gone nearly all day, I am not sure if I should go, but I promised a friend I would go. My friend is thinking I need a break, but I am not sure whether to go or not to go.

I will pray on this.
