Does your friend have depression, anxiety, or something else?

Is your friend seeing a doctor or someone who can help your friend cope/deal with what he/she is going through?

Has your friend gone through a complete medical check up?

Perhaps, your friend needs to discuss these feelings/thoughts of indifference and suicide (if that’s what it is) with a parish Priest. Most time, Priests will offer good advice.

Please tell your friend that he/she is not alone–that many of Jesus’ own disciples felt the same way and even some of the Saints.

In the meantime, I will add you, the Priests, and especially your friend to my Prayers.

My friend has seen several doctors, pshychologists, and psychiatrists. She has sought counseling. No one can help her. Medications have not been working. She has complied over and over with them for several years. Recently she has turned to the Church.

My friend is currently seeing her priest. My friend says that is helping somewhat. Hey somewhat is a good thing and I’ll take it any day of the week. 👍

May Almighty God grant my friend all the graces that she is in most need of during this time. May she be given all the graces that she needs to come to a closer Union with God and His Church. May God heal her in all areas that she is in most need in accordance to His Most Holy and Perfect Divine Will. Please Lord, reach to her and please pull her from the pit of despair.

Please give me the graces and strethes that I am in most need of during this time to help my friend. May I grow in closer union to You and Your Church so I too can help my friend.

May the most just, the most lovable, and the Most High Will of God be done, be fulfilled, be priased and exalted in all things forever. Amen.
 
Morning,

I once again am so thankful for all of your prayers. I know they are helping. Today was a good day, my friend went to Mass and went to talk to her priest. She is still suicidal and I am having a hard time entrusting her to the Lord, but it is something that I need to do.

I did have a good day today, I got out of town for a day and had a delightful time something I have not done in four weeks.

Please continue your prayers. I will update this thread everyday if things change for the better or God forbid, the worse. Please forward this prayer request to your friends, families, and priests.

I’m sorry for all of these pestering questions and if I seem rude. Perhaps your friend needs to see a different doctor and medical professional(s) or I know this may seem really rude but perhaps your friend needs to go to a Psychiatric hospital.

I have had several family members and a really good friend who had to go to a Psychiatric hospital when they were suicidal…Thanks to these medical professionals they were helped and by God’s saving grace they were healed.

I’m really glad to hear that the Priest is helping her somewhat too.

Nope these questions are not pestering at all and you do not seem at all rude to me either. You seem to be caring which is evident in the posts that you have posted in this thread and other threads. I am glad that you are asking them because I can explain and the things will be in the thread should anyone wish to read them.

My friend stopped seeing these medical professionals after being under phsychiatric care since 1999. She has always been compliant in her medications and would always act under medical advice. She would do everything that was counseled by these medical professionals. The list of drugs that she has been on is staggering. I did ask if I could share these details and she said that I could share what I thought would be necessary. She has been on some of the strongest medications and some on the max doses in hopes that she would find relief for her situation.

After years of being on medication and complying with medical doctors and psychologists she with their approval quit her medications. She withdrew her medications over a gradual period of time. They all reached the assessment that there was nothing that was helping at all. Her doctors were pleased that she was seeking counseling and that she was talking to her priest as well. NOTE: Her priest said that it was her decision as to what she would do, and by no means did he advise her to quit taking medication or seeing the professionals.

My friend has been in and out of psychiatric hosptials since 1999. Since she quit taking her medications over a year ago, she has not been in a hospital since.

I am convinced that this is a spiritual problem. And I am pleased that she is talking with her priest. There are things that I wish not to divulge in the thread here that I can confidently say that there are some things here that point to a spiritual problem. I have counseled her to do as the priest counsels in all things, and this is advice that she is taking most neatly. If she follows counsel then things will be okay, because we never get burned for following counsel.

Oh no I did not think you were nosy at all, in fact I saw it otherwise, as a post written by someone who cares very much about me. If anything I saw what you wrote as a wake-up call for me because I need to realize that if things do go for the worse, then it is not my fault and I won’t have to live with the guilt. Thank you for your note. You are a very sweet person! I do want to say that I believe that you are going in the right direction, and leaving town for even a day will be a good thing for you to do. One thing I have learned also is that sometimes I need to get out of God’s way, and let Him do what he plans. Like I am doing with our son. I do pray everyday, and I do praise God for His great plans for our boy. In the end, I do believe that the goodness of God will triumph. I will continue praying for you and your friend. I did enjoy going out of town and needed a break. I am a little better rested and my friend is still alive thanks be to God.

Your friend may be going through the darkness that St. John of the Cross talks about, or is under heavy spiritual attack. At times I have been there, it helped me to pray, Lord Jesus may the blood that flowed from your crown of thorns fall upon my mind, and wash away this depression and oppression and fill me with hope and joy. Loving Father in Heaven, I enjoin my prayers here with everyone praying for little one’s friend. May your grace will suffice to strengthen her and enlighten her mind towards You. In our helplessness oh Lord, we turn to You, for You are the only One whom we can turn for help. For as You said, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to You."With utmost faith we come to you Lord and pray for little one’s friend that she will receive Your Holy Spirit and be enlightened. Amen

May Almighty God grant my friend all the graces that she is in most need of during this time. May she be given all the graces that she needs to come to a closer Union with God and His Church. May God heal her in all areas that she is in most need in accordance to His Most Holy and Perfect Divine Will. Please Lord, reach to her and please pull her from the pit of despair.

Please give me the graces and strethes that I am in most need of during this time to help my friend. May I grow in closer union to You and Your Church so I too can help my friend.

May the most just, the most lovable, and the Most High Will of God be done, be fulfilled, be priased and exalted in all things forever. Amen.
