Please read. Please pray for a special friend of mine

To All,

My friend has gone once again to Confession this past weekend but did not go to Mass. She is doing a bit better, and seems to be resting a bit more at night than she has been in the past. I believe her talking to her priest is doing her a world of good.

I do spend quite a lot of time with her though and it has taken its toll. I am worried though because next month, I am going to go camping hopefully for what looks to be 2 weeks, but am not sure right now, I’ll know the particulars later. I know that she will be in good hands with her priest and God, but I don’t like the idea of being away. However, I think I need this time off. I am going camping with a good friend that I have not seen in awhile and we’ve been planning this for several weeks now. It’s just that next month worked best in our schedules.

Please pray for me so that I can be at peace going camping. And continue to pray for her. She assures me that your prayers have been helping and has asked me to ask you guys to continue to pray for her and her priest. Please pray for me and my Spiritual Director too.

God bless you guys and thank you for your support and kind and encouraging words.

Thanks for the update One. I am in agreement with you that it is best left in God’s hands. I trust all will go well. Enjoy your trip!

I have never posted any prayer intentions in the forum because I have not been moved to do so, but now I am moved to do so.

I am asking prayers for a special friend of mine. She is going through a very difficult time in her life right now. She has lost hope in God’s Mercy and have fallen into black despair. I have serveral priests saying Mass for her.

She probably will want to talk to her doctor about this. Severe depression needs to be treated like any other illness by professionals who deal with mental and emotional health issues. The best thing you could do for her is to get her to find one of these professionals and talking to them about their problems too. It would be best if they were an orthodox Catholic too, because since her depression relates directly to her religious devotion, she needs someone who is faithful to the church and understands what it is like to be a true Catholic. Ask the priest if he knows of any resources or can find someone through the diocese. Also, see if she can find a spiritual director as well. A spiritual director who is orthodox may be able to direct her to an orthodox Catholic therapist or counselor.

Also, I’m not insinuating that this is true, but there might have been some sin that she has got on her mind and she feels she is not worthy enough to receive Jesus or minister to other people. Don’t bring this up right now. It’s better if she finds a good Catholic therapist and priest and possibly a spiritual director and talk to them now about what she is feeling. If she is harboring any deep guilt feelings over unconfessed sins, they will be able to help her with that.

That is my advice. Let me know if any of it is helpful to you and your friend.
Tell her to keep the faith. God still loves her. She gave her such a good and loving friend like yourself!!!

Greetings to All who are posting and or reading this thread,

I know several of you guys do not know me. I have spent many months just lurking about the forum before joining. However, when reading the prayer intentions forum, there were many intentions that I prayed for, this being one. I am very sympathetic to those who are helping out suicidal people and pray for those considering suicide, seeing that I have lost a few good friends and a family member due to suicide.

I asked a Moderator if it would be okay to initiate contact with the OP as I am wondering how they and their friend are doing. If they say that I can post an update in this thread, I will surely do so.

Little One0307, if you are reading this, I have been praying for you and your friend for quite a long time.

Little One0307 will update me when there is something to know. I am thankful that we have a prayer intention forum that we can lift others in prayer. I am thankful that there are so many caring people here in Catholic Answers Forum that pray for these prayer requests.

I will be gone from September 06, 2011 - September 17, 2011 so I will not be here to post in this thread during that time.

Little One0307 if you are reading this, know that I shall be continuing to pray for you and your friend.
