I am posting this on behalf of a friend who desperately needs advice from members of this forum:

"I was born and raised Catholic, but 1 year ago started to move away from the faith. Recently I dabbled in Satanism, attempted summoning a certain demon, and got a major scare.

Some weird things started happening recently, and now I’m not too sure what to do! I will definitely go to confession today and seek help from a priest, but that’s 15 hours away! It’s late at night here, and the resources I used wanted me to use a “sigil” - in short, that’s a calling card for a demon to achieve a specific end. It stressed the sigil must always be kept in immaculate condition, and burning it will result in adverse consequences.

I have this in my room, but do not want to destroy it because I’m afraid of what might happen, it’s not me that I’m specifically worried about, but my younger brother in the house. This whole night has been uneasy, I can’t get to sleep, it seemed like I was in a weird trance like state when I was sleeping and was disturbed by strange images in my semi-sleep. The resource mentioned the demon can speak to you in different ways, including dreams, “scrying” in the mirror, and incense appearance.

I was woken up by my younger brother crying downstairs in the dark, when he should have been sleeping! Luckily he’s in my parents room now, I don’t know whether any of these events are related, or what’s real right now, but I certainly don’t have an easy feeling of any of this, and should have thought twice before dabbling in this stuff. What should I do? Should I get rid of the sigil? Wait till morning?"

Pray!!! The best defense against the devil is prayer and fasting. Also, use of sacramentals: Holy Water, Blessed Salt, the Rosary, etc.

And yes, I would destroy this sigil thing at once.

The Devil can’t make you do things without your cooperation. Call on Jesus and Mary for help.

if it was me, i would call a priest asap…

if a priest can’t come… i would get massive holy water & spray the whole house… and the doors & even outside… that’s just what i would do…

i would say massive rosaries…

I would dunk that thing in holy water…

and he should make an act of contrition out of love for God above all things…renounce the devil and all his works and renew ones baptismal promises…and turn to Christ asking his grace and help…

and hopefully he has a blessed miraculous medal or that of st. benedict…and pray to Our Lady…place himself under her protection…

put that on…and pray.

but very important…do not do ANY occult means …this only makes things worse…both by sin and otherwise…

and of course a Good confession

Dear theunknown48,

Please destroy the sigil immediately and do not cease to pray the “I believe”, “Our Father” and “Hail Mary” with true sincerity and devotion, until you have the opportunity to make your confession to a priest.

May our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St Michael the Archangel and the Holy Souls in Purgatory protect you from the attacks of the demon.

Do not take part in any other occult practices, even if you are doing them with the intention of undoing a previous curse. There is no such thing as “white” magic - there is only spells and even if a spell seems to undo another, it is only binding you to a new spell and tying you further to the demon you have contacted. All these spells/curses/incantations are all from Satan - no matter what they claim. Do not be decieved, you cannot undue a curse with another curse, that only compounds the problem. You need to appeal to Jesus. Call on the precious blood of Jesus every time this demon invades your thoughts or dreams.

Pray to St. Michael to protect you against the snares of the devil. I am at work so I can’t do this, but can someone post a St. Michael prayer for the op?

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

And if you think it might be anything psychotic, call a Psychologist and a priest.
 
I agree with the other posters…what is a sigil? I am not familiar with any of this nomenclature

I would think that if you called a priest and told him what you’ve experienced he would meet with you as soon as is possible for him. In the meantime…praying the Creed affirms your faith in God. Satan hates the name of Jesus. Perhaps the Fatima prayer.

Oh my Jesus…forgive us our sins…save us from the power Satan. Lead all souls to heaven…especially those most in need of your mercy.

Or

Saint Michael the arch-angel…defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray. And you prince of the heavenly hosts by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits that prowl about the earth seeking ruin of souls. Amen.
