Please pray for me today if you can. I have a long drive to a work conference and back today. Also, my wife, baby are doing great. I just feel exhausted, over weight and depressed lately and having a hard time feeling worthy. I just cannot get myself to focus on my health and to get fit. I feel that I don’t have enough time for life and with God and don’t feel like a good Catholic. Sorry this maybe confusing just down lately.

I can empathize mkipp, I have weight issues too.

PRAYER TO SAINT ANTHONY.
Holy Saint Anthony,
gentle and powerful in your help,
your love for God and charity for His creatures,
made you worthy, when on earth,
to possess miraculous powers.
Miracles waited on your word,
which you were always ready to request
for those in trouble or anxiety.
Encouraged by this thought,
I implore you to obtain for me…

(Make your request here). Better health and happiness

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle.
Even so, you are the Saint of miracles.
Gentle and loving Saint Anthony,
whose heart is ever full of human sympathy,
take my petition to the Infant Savior
for whom you have such a great love,
and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.

Amen.

I feel bad because I am a big talker about making changes with losing weight and getting healthy but I never do anything. My wife is worried that I am being really unhealthy. I feel like such a phony because I never actually do anything with trying to be healthy. Just need to get it done and to stay healthy for my wife and daughter.

We’re all human and we make mistakes. Make changes in small ways. Take the parking lot where you work…[hopefully you are employed]. park farther from the building and walk a few hundred feet to the door to get to work. If you have a driveway in your yard walk a couple 100 ft a day. That’s what I am doing, and so far I have more energy and am burning more calories= weight loss. Eat a small salad with a light lunch…small stuff to change. I know it’s really hard…I have to lose 100+ pounds…I know what that’s like.

I’ll still pray for you. Sometimes you just need to know you’re in the same boat as someone else…and no it won’t sink…God wouldn’t make a vessel so flimsy it would sink!!

PRAYER OF ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM
To Jesus Before Communion
O Lord, my God,
I am not worthy that You should come into my soul,
but I am glad that You have come to me
because in Your loving kindness
You desire to dwell in me.
You ask me to open the door of my soul,
which You alone have created,
so that You may enter into it
with Your loving kindness
and dispel the darkness of my mind.
I believe that You will do this
for You did not turn away Mary Magdalene
when she approached You in tears.
Neither did you withhold forgiveness from the tax collector
who repented of his sins
or from the good thief
who asked to be received into Your kingdom.
Indeed, You numbered as Your friends
all who came to You with repentant hearts.
O God, You alone are blessed always,
now, and forever.

I hope you feel better today at some point. Try to find a good joke to laugh at…A good Mel Brooks film to watch. After a walk in the driveway…and then a couple cups of air popped popcorn…:thumbsup:Hang in there.

I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in

for his name’s sake.

Praying for Jesus to lift up your spirit and help you get back into shape mkipp …

If God clothes in such splendor the grass of the field, how much more will He provide for you.

INVOCATION: Come to my assistance, O God. Lord, make haste to help me.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: Where your treasure is, there will your heart also be. (Luke 12:34*

Suggested Scripture Reading: I Corinthians 1:26-31

PRACTICE: Make a special effort for Jesus to be gracious and considerate to anyone you encounter today.

PRAYER: Stay with us, Lord, and guide our every action. Please assist me today to be smiling and pleasant to everyone I meet, even those I may not like.

Jesus, heal our lives,
our broken spirits,
our hearts and minds,
our body and soul.

Jesus, hear our prayer;
You know our weekness,
our struggle and pain,
for You too have suffered.

Jesus, listen in love
as you once did at Cana
to your Mother Mary
as we petition her to help us.*

If you ever feel down, know that there is someone who is worse off than you.
Click the link to the YouTube version of Ping Shuilin from Shenzhen, China. He was run over by a truck and has only half a body. But after a 2-year stay in the hospital undergoing serious operations, he has become physically fit and an entrepreneur. 👍

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Omnipotent God, vitality of life,
Your strength supplies my motivation.
I am stirred in the path of Your Will.
Maintain my self-motivation to always
Search, find, examine, will and act
Upon the truths placed before me.
May I become a driving force for others,
Encouraging them to pick up their crosses
And follow the virtuous road of life.
I thank You for Your continued vigour
That coexists in my whole being,
My soul, my spirit and by body.
Amen

Praying for you and dear family, as always (extra now)
Little changes, like Mary1173 wrote, will get you started in losing weight.I have a weight problem as well and need to lose 100+ lbs. It’s difficult, but try to take little steps, small goals at first, ones easily attained so as to not add to feelings of anxiety/depression. You are worthy, do not doubt that, as a child of God, made in His Image.
Praying for all those so afflicted with depression, weight issues and their families’ spiritual, emotional and physical needs, whether able to post or not…

Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. .

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, as is and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell,
lead all souls to heaven, especially, those in most need of Your Mercy.
Amen

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins,
my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Praying as well for the intercession of St. Lydwine of Schiedham, patroness of those afflicted with prolonged suffering and chronic illness and Servant of God Father Nelson Baker…
