Thank you chev, fled and clairedelune…(one of my fave pieces to play on the piano btw;) )

You know, oddly enough, I’m not that nervous now…it must be everyone’s dear prayers here. You guys make my heart soar with gratitude.

I humbly ask you guys to please pray for me…I will be having skin surgery tomorrow morning at 8am. I asked Mary for her prayers today, and at mass last night. It’s not major surgery (I had a mole removed a while ago, and it came back positive for basal cell carcinoma, a slow growth skin cancer) but still. I’m a little nervous. I know Jesus will take care of me, no matter what. I should fear nothing.

Thank you for your prayers. You’re the best.

Sorry, WG. Did not see this until this morning. Already prayed for you and hope all goes well. Keep us posted!

Hi everyone–the surgery went well…the cancerous tissue was obtained during the first ‘round.’ For those of you not familiar with mohs surgery…the doc takes tissue samples (margins around the cancerous tissue as well to see if it is spreading) and tests it, then if it is ‘clear,’ he/she stitches you up. The trouble today, was I think the doc either overbooked himself during my procedure, or forgot about me. My dh was not happy. I am in a bit of pain now that the anesthesia wore off. It was just a local, but I just feel such a tightness now. And I think I will end up with a scar.

He was very kind…he said, if you had wrinkles, the scar would blend in. Hmmm…I like this doctor. Gives me a scar, but then compliments me. 😛 😉 Anyways, I just get this sense that this scar is going to be very visible. I’m not vain, but come on. A big scar in the middle of my forehead? I have never had a problem with my skin…so I might have to wear bangs now. lol I hear they have made a comeback.:o

Just filling you in–and thank you much for the prayers. You all have mine, too. God bless you!

Don’t worry about the scar. Everyone looks at your green eyes anyway. 🙂

I am so glad to hear your surgery went well! I hope you heal well without the scar, and if you do get a scar I hope it is small and fades with time. Or you can always work on sprouting some wrinkles! 😃 Your surgical site will look big and obvious to you now, since it’s fresh and has stitches and everything. But as it heals it will become a lot less obvious. :hug1:

WeGirl, don’t fret about scars, I am full of them all over my face, reconstructive surgery after my accident, my exhusband told me he couldn’t see me as a woman any more and couldn’t touch me which didn’t help me very well during my recovery which lasted over a year…lol…but my db tells me they my “war marks” and he considers them very sexy!! 😛 lol…He makes me feel good about my scars…hahaha…

Anyhow, thank GOD all went well! GOD bless and it’s great to hear from ya! Rest up, take care and hope you have a wonderful day!

Now you can be Harry Potter for Halloween, or wear bangs if it bugs you.🙂 I am just glad you are OK.

Praying for you and your family. I hope your kids and husband are not freaking out! I have read your posts about your husband and kids, and they were on my mind as I read this news.
Jesus will take care of you!🙂

edit- I see you are recovered (that is what happens when you dont read all the posts!)

Glad you are recovered!🙂

Oh good to know–and did you end up with a scar at all? How long were you wearing a bandage? If it weren’t on my face, I really probably wouldn’t be fretting.😊
Yes I have a scar, it is on my shoulder, luckily I had pre cancerous condition on both sides of my face, They treated it for two weeks with a salve type medication called Efudex, & it cleared up fine, I Like Yourself had to have a full body scan & felt weird cause it was two women who were doing the scanning. I always loved & enjoyed the beach & ocean, I am fair skin lucky I didnt have more of it than i did.I wore a bandage for about a week

your ex sounds so horrible, but your fiance sounds like a dream…good for you that you found love! thanks for your story. 🙂

How are you feeling today, WG? Just checking.:flowers:
Hi GD;🙂

I’m doing better today, although it’s still a little painful/tender…tight feeling. Like imagine the worst sunburn you have ever had…and someone also gave you a massive papercut on the sunburn. Yikes! Sorry for the visual, but that’s what it feels like.😛

I looked at the scar today, as yesterday, I had to keep the bandage on…and hmmm…it looks smaller than I would have imagined. The doc sews well! ha:D Very straight, but the black ‘thread,’ looks…bleck. Gross! I am thinking that once I’m healed, it might be less than an inch long, the scar. I can live with that…👍 I’m wearing a smaller bandaid today, that blends a bit better than the bandage from yesterday.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness everyone–it means a lot.:o

My DH has a rather large one from his tracheotomy. It hasn’t slowed him down. .
