Just because a person doesn’t perceive it doesn’t mean that contraception isn’t harming their marriage (and society at whole).

ETA: It may very well be due to a person’s definition of a good marriage. There may be swingers out there that feel they have a good marriage, but we all know that it really isn’t truly a good marriage in God’s eyes.
Wow. Nice.

No, my husband and I aren’t swingers.

I am simply explaining that my marriage didn’t change when we changed methods of birth control.

So sorry if you felt I was saying you were swingers!!! Definitely not my intention, I was just trying to use an example that was clearly wrong (I cannot imagine a situation where swinging would be justified).

Still, just because the couple involved doesn’t realize using ABC harms their marriage, doesn’t mean it doesn’t. Just because a couple doesn’t realize that changing from ABC to a moral option is better for their marriage, doesn’t mean it isn’t better.

We use the rhythm method. The only time pregnancy was a complete surprise was with our first. I got pregnant our second week of marriage. i had foolishly not started charting until after we got married.

If the measure of success is in the spacing and how planned each pregnancy was, then yes, it has been successful. The largest gap is 2 years, from end of pregnancy to conception.

I can’t speak for my husband, but I find the entire process at alluring. When avoiding pregnancy you have those days when it is like dating. Lots of flirting, and showing admiration through other means. Then comes the days when there is the green light. It is like a honeymoon stage all over again. Which in turn makes it easier to ignore the natural want during the fertile stage. From what I can tell my husband feels similar. Be it he has admitted that some months he finds it frustrating.
