sniffles thanks Jim G, Annuncita, Lisa, Genisis, Shibonu, trailblazer, pumpkin, midnight and garfield…i know God is in control…now I only have to get through finals…
You know I have found that when I was in college facing finals, inaddition to the stress of the finals any other stresses felt magnified. Also I tended to get distracted by anything and everything, even the need to clean a messy apartment. I can imagine if this message board was around back then I would have gotten pulled in by that as well. I am sure I would have felt the way you do now about the prophacies. When I was younger than you are now, I was always worried and even had nightmares about nuclear war and the posibility of WWIII.

I sure hope you are feeling better about all of this and I hope that you can find comfort in other areas of this message forum. Also I will keep you in my prayers regarding your finals. ~P

Pumpkin that picture is soooo cute:)

To tell the truth, it scares me too, Meggie, and I’m 24! Take this advice, though: It’s gonna be alright. People like to speculate and quiz over what things mean, and what signs are being seen. Do your best to focus on the more positive things. This isn’t to say you should be oblivious, but - look around you. 🙂 See the good in the world, in people, and focus on keeping that going. Kick up your heels and celebrate about our new Pope!

And yes, like me - it may be wise to stay away from the prophecy forum threads. It’s not being ignorant, it’s just taking care of yourself. If it’s something important for you to know, I’m one of those believers that the Holy Spirit will let you in on the big secret when you need to be concerned.

So - no more tears! Live well, and spread joy to those around you.

**If it’s any consolation, I’m 65 and first heard that stuff about the end times when I was 6. It got me all upset until my father explained things to me. After that, I just let it roll off. I’ve heard umpteen predictions about the end of the world and it ain’t happened yet. **

Meggie,
I’m almost 30 and I’m not really worried if the world ends in 10 secs, tmw, next week, or in a 1000 years. You will not stop it from happening when the time comes, so be prepared because it could very well happen in your lifetime or mine, like it or not. What are you afraid of?

Meggie …

Just watch out for the goats and make sure you’re in the right group then just drop to your knees, give glory and thanks and enjoy the rest.

Meggie,

It appears you have started an interesting, popular thread.

You have been asked what you are afraid of? You have been asked why worry? And, unfortunately, human nature allows both of those traits to be present when we are faced with the uncertainness of life.

Live each day as if there were no tomorrow. Pray not only for yourself, but for the souls in Purgatory. Pray that you are able to live each day through Christ, and, you will be fine.

:crying:can everyone please stop threads about Pope Benedict being the last Pope before the antichrist. I don’t want to sound like a baby but you are scaring me. Most of you talking about this are alot older than me and honestly you will probably die in three or four decades…I have to be around here for alot longer. Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour…can we just leave it at that?:crying:

Meggie,

Listen, I am not sure how old you are and quite frankly it does not matter that much. We have right now in the chair of Peter our first pope, a man of extreme brilliance, love and compassion. A holy man who loves Jesus and the Blessed Mother immensely. He wants truth to be restored to the church and he wants to shepard and feed his flock. His writings are full of beauty and truth and if we take the time to focus on the here and NOW and what this holy father has to say, I believe extraordinary graces will fall on each one of us. Folks are so concerned with the end times they are not even aware of the beauty of our new pope…our papa! While John Paul the Great was alive so many of us did not realize what we had. Many people were chasing after false seers, visions, dreams, signs, many of which contradicted each other and the church has been confused, scared, stiffled and belittled.

Don’t be afraid little one! Remember the first words of John Paul the Great…DON"T BE AFRAID!! Because…if the puney little devil backs the church into the corner with fear, many people in this world will not recieve the blessings that you and all of us have to offer. Live a life of prayer and gentleness. Love your family and friends, excell in school and learning and do the best you can to be like Jesus…you will be ok! We are here for you friend. take care!!

Keep you powder dry and steel yourself

And don’t let them get you down

fox…i just think its stupid that 40-60 year olds are concoting a world of doom that you most likely won’t have to live, but I will…
It is not uncommon for people to idealize the past
I’ve even caught myself saying “when I was a boy……” and I’m only 42

Fox:
Who are you Meggie to say I will die before you? Did God give you revelation on when my time or any other peoples time is up?

Your quote-“Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour.”

Please follow your own advise. Thanks.
Well, you ARE in the USAF, aren’t you?

What does his military affiliation have to do with anything?

Only an idiot says that Benedict is the last Pope. To say such things is highly unreasonable. Any crack-pot who says the end times are around the corner are just saying it because they are depressed. That there is nothing you can do to change the world.

As Chris says pray as if it is your last day, it might very well be. nobody is promised tomorrow.

Bones,
The end times for you might be the next breath you take, you can never be too sure.

Everyone be prepared.

Could very well be. Like Jesus said, “Stay awake.”

As another side note Fox, Simon Birch in his book the Trail, Tribulation and Triumph, those apparitions who say that end times is right around the corner are to be ignored. I said nothing wrong. Another thing to say the end times are around the corner is not a fruit of the holy spirit.
I say this because I haven’t seen an end to abortion just yet. Mother Teresa said it herself, “There cannot be piece in the world until there is an end to abortion.” Think twice before you speak.

I say to you Sir, your end times could be your next breath, you are not promised tmw as with everyone else. I am saying be prepared. You can go in a blink of an eye.

Also what gives Simon Birch anymore say on the End Times say to Malachi?

Also you can’t say the End Times aren’t going to happen in 5 mins tmw or next week, unless God gave you special province saying not so.

Christ Himself warns everyone it will come like a thief in the night.

Be prepared.

We are all living on borrowed time, the sooner people realise this the better off they will be.

I got married on April 25, 1987. By June of 1987 I had started a new job and then discovered I was pregnant! My husband’s birthday was August the 10th. I didn’t tell him about the baby because we were very poor (newly weds, you know!) and that was going to be my birthday gift to him (along with a home cooked meal). On August the 7th I spoke to him 30 minutes before I got off work. At 5:15pm I got home and found him in the backyard, at the bottom of the community pool.

I dove it to get him, and in the horror and confusion of the next few hours I lost the baby.

Meggie, listen to those people who tell you to live each moment as though you will meet Jesus right then. It will help you love your life, love your experiences around your life and understand that any predictions about the end of the world are merely mind games for those of us who sometimes like to give our brains a little fun workout.

If the end is near it is a time to rejoice!

And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

Meggie, you actually listen to those people?

I recall a few Catholics first predicting the end of the world in Scripture. As I recall a few of the followers of Jesus thought the end times were right after Jesus rose from the dead. I guess they thought their times were bad too - EH? Of course, they wrote Scripture too.

In about 1,000 A.D. many Catholics also proclaimed the end of the world. (In those days we only had Catholics, no Protestants reformed themselves away from Christs body and His teachings yet.) I guess they thought the number 1,000 was significant and their times were bad too? Catholics pretty much learned their lesson after this particular debacle and stopped preaching when the end would come and focused more on the theology of the end times which is better for us to know anyway. (Please note it was a few Catholics in the Church that taught the end and not the Church itself).

After the great deformation of Christs body, His Catholic Church in 1517-1522 Protestants began to proclaim the end of the world every few years. (More often now I see.) Of course as usual they were wrong. Great Protestants preachers and phrophets in from the JW’s and Mormans and Baptists and SDA’s and etc… have all increased their members and scared them with these same predictions and ALL were wrong, as usuall.

God said no one will know when the end comes. All these false preachers who know it all do nothing but lead the weak away from the truth. Be strong of Faith, remain Catholic, ignore the doomsayers in the reformation away from Christs body, His Catholic Church!

What is important is to be a good Catholic (i.e. Christian). As such you will have no need whatsoever to worry about the end times! Who cares when the end comes? Follow Christ in His Catholic Church and He will protect your soul. Worry about the crabgrass in your lawn not the end times.

Joseph Smith was wrong, Eddy, Baker, etc. were all wrong. The preachers I see on TBN and 3ABN and all the opther Protestant networks that preach garbage like that have ALL been wrong!

If your soul is ready, who cares.

Now back to my Mary garden and prayer and meditation to God - something worthwhile unlike worry about the end times.
