You are definitely not alone. I bought the game for my younger grandchildren 8 and 10. Their mother is now hooked as well as their older sister, 14. My 35 year old son goes to a friend’s house and plays it there. Says it’s way cool!!

Reminds me of the time when he was a teen-ager and called me upstairs to hear some really neat music. I had to laugh. It was Led Zepplin. Stairway to Heaven I think.

haha–that’s funny! It’s ironic how the old songs are making a strong come back. My dd’s guitar teacher said that the majority of his students over the past year came due to GH!

Growing up i played a lot of video games, and i still love to play, but i definitely don’t as much. That being said, i played GH for the first time at a friends house and i love it. i am thinking about buying it for my PS2. My wife even tried it a couple times, but i dont think she likes it as much.

Also, wait til you try Rock Band. Now that is some serious fun. If you. Guitar is basically the same, except they have a bass guitar as well as vocals and drums.

Fun times for sure!

It’s a baseball hat, but with a flat brim–my dd got her name embroidered on the front–rappers wear them. But, she does look cute–I told her I did not want her looking like a gangster, but it’s pink and blue, so at least it looks girlie! But, she wears it specifically for GH…

That is too funny. If she can play like some of the people that I saw on YouTube then that would be interesting to watch. That song that you posted about earlier looks really tough, tougher than the one that I posted. WOW

Yeah, you know…it’s thee only song she plays practically on there. She plays Evenflow on the real guitar, so that is another one we hear a lot in the house. But, that Fire and Flames…ugh…it sounds awful…like too many notes…too noisy…the voice of the singer makes me want to run and hide. haha But, her and my son love this song…I dunno!!

You should try to see if you can buy the game used…at like Gamestop or something…if price is an issue at all, you might be able to get one for $50.

If you like GH you will love RockBand!

GH is better for solo playing but if you have 3 people Rockband is amazing. I play the drums. After playing those drums I can’t get into playing the guitar.

…I’m a Guitar Hero addict! Well, maybe addict is a strong word…but I absolutely love this game! I don’t really enjoy video games which is why I am surprised I like this–perhaps, because there are no winners or losers, you just have good clean fun, you know? My dd takes ‘real’ guitar lessons, and I play piano–and took lessons for years–maybe this is why I like it so? I actually “play” the GH guitar, laying flat on my lap, and like a piano. I don’t hold the guitar in this game the way it should be held. haha I just don’t feel comfortable doing that.

Anyways–tell me I’m not the only parent on here who loves this game?? My dd said last night that we should get two guitars, and I can ‘have’ the original one. hahahaha (I just love this game–I’m on the ‘hard’ level now–for most songs, so it gets even more fun when you start challenging yourself)

At our College they have guitar hero on the game system (don’t ask me which one as I have no idea) and I tried guitar hero after using the tutorial. I found it kinda hard to do the first song (Girl you really got me) even though it was on easy mode. I did use it like a piano as I have had real guitar training YEARS back and its different.

Hey, we don’t have that song. We have GH III…so that might be GH II? From a piano perspective, I find it easier than holding the guitar up. Thanks for sharing, Matthew!

You have four drums and a foot pedal. When you first start it is kind of difficult to coordinate your two arms and foot but with practice it gets easier! I HATE singing but it’s kind of fun on Rockband. lol
