From the ENCHIRIDION INDULGENTIARUM
_"7 _
_Eucharistica adoratio et processio _
_§ 1. Plenaria indulgentia conceditur christifideli qui _
1°10 Ss.mum Sacramentum visitaverit ad adorandum per dimidiam saltem horam; "
The Enchiridion Of Indulgences, in english, says that “3. Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament
(Adoratio Ss.mi Sacramenti)
A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful, who visit the Most Blessed Sacrament to adore
it; a plenary indulgence is granted, if the visit lasts for at least one half an hour.” about the same Indulgence.
My point is, what is needed to fulfill the requirements to earn that indulgence?
I know there’s a Rite of Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction, but, since the Enchiridion of Indulgences only says “visit do adore”, I question: Is needed the Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament?
That indulgence is listed as one of the ones “Deserving of special mention …, for any one of which the faithful can gain a plenary indulgence each day of the year”. So, I think, the Exposition is not needed, since isn’t anyone allowed to do the exposition.
The Way of the Cross, for example, explicitly states that:
“1) The pious exercise must be made before stations of the Way of the Cross legitimately
erected.
2) For the erection of the Way of the Cross fourteen crosses are required, to which it is
customary to add fourteen pictures or images, which represent the stations of Jerusalem…”
Among other requirements. Already the adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, says only “to visit and to adore”.
I really want to know the proper way to earn that Plenary Indulgence.
Many thanks.
The Peace of Christ.
