Plenary Indulgence and Divine Office

One plenary indulgence- obtainable at anytime and anyplace- is the reading of Sacred Scripture for at least thirty minutes. When I combine Matins with Lauds I find that I am praying the Office for 45 minutes (depending on length of psalms / readings). One would assume that at least 30 minutes of this time is the praying of various psalms / readings from Sacred Scripture- would this then qualify for the aforementioned plenary indulgence (assuming all other plenary requirements are fulfilled)?
 
And they said Catholics are banned from reading the Bible tsk, tsk.

Well the Divine Office is taken from Sacred Scripture, so yes. 🙂

In addition to my poor soul there are so many others who desperately need our prayers and sacrifices! Indulgences are such a tremendous gift for all of us!

Right now, the aforementioned plenary indulgence is the only one that I can hope to obtain on a daily basis. Your responses are very encouraging!
 
Don’t forget that this indulgence as with all plenary indulgences is granted under the usual conditions that must also be met, these are:
  1. Confession within the last 2 weeks (For daily plenary indulgences confession is recommended at least every other week)
  2. Reception of the Holy Eucharist
  3. Prayer for the Pope’s intentions (this may be fulfilled with one Our Father and one Hail Mary, or any other suitable prayer may be used)
  4. No attachment to sin, not even venial sin
Reading of scripture is the indulgenced act which when performed with the above (aka usual conditions) confers upon the person the plenary indulgence. Other plenary indulgenced acts include:
  1. Stations of the Cross
  2. Praying the rosary in a church or oratory or with a pious association
  3. Many are available through pious associations such as the Rosary Confraternity on Marian feast days.
