GOOGLE it…

The “easiest” ones that I am aware of are:

Reciting the [praying] the Stations of the Cross

Reading the Bible for 30 minutes

All Plenry Indulgences require Confession ASAP, reception of Jesus in Holy Comunion and reciting the HM, OF, and Glory Be to the Father for the ententions of our Pope.

Plenary Indulgences
This list is a convenient compilation of all the ways to obtain a plenary indulgence. Note that in addition to the described work, obtaining a plenary indulgence also has the following conditions (see Norms which are summarized below):

Sacramental confession. A single sacramental confession suffices for gaining several plenary indulgences; but Communion must be received and prayer for the intention of the Sovereign Pontiff must be recited for the gaining of each plenary indulgence.
Eucharistic Communion.
Prayer for the intention of the Sovereign Pontiff. The condition of praying for the intention of the Sovereign Pontiff is fully satisfied by reciting one Our Father and one Hail Mary; nevertheless, each one is free to recite any other prayer according to his piety and devotion.

It is further required that all attachment to sin, even venial sin, be absent. If the latter disposition is in any way less than perfect or if the prescribed three conditions are not fulfilled, the indulgence will be partial only, saving the provisions given in Norms 34 and 35.

Love and prayers,

I cannot remember what I need to do to gain one.

Can somebody give me a list please?

Thanks.
One would do whatever the plenary Indulgence was attached to (say reading a Catholic Bible for 30 minutes spirituality etc)

Go to communion.
Go to confession ( one confession is fine for many indulgences…I forget the new time limit…certainly within a week…but I think it is 21 days)

Pray for the intentions of the Pope

and be detached from all sin.

(if one does not fullfil everything…it becomes “partial”…and there are of course many ways to gain just a partial one anyhow with out these requirements…one just preforms the work in a state of grace intending it…)

(of course one should be in a state of grace…)

Can you say them for somebody else?

Whether it be somebody alive or in purgatory?
Hi Nelka. You can certainly offer indulgences for souls in Purgatory! They are very grateful for the indulgence(s), even partial ones. I can’t remember who it was, but one saint has also said that the souls in Purgatory are most excellent for bringing our prayers before God when we ask them for assistance. So, I’d really recommend offering indulgences for the Holy Souls!

Now, I haven’t heard that one can offer indulgences for someone living. However, we can ask for Masses to be said for whomever it is we wish. Through the Mass, God can grant extraordinary graces to those whom we remember at it. Here are some sayings of two saints and a pope on the greatness of a Mass offered for someone during their life…

A single Mass offered for oneself during life may be worth more than a thousand celebrated for the same intention after death.
~ St. Anself

One Mass before death may be more profitable than many after it.
~ St. Leonard of Port Maurice

“The Holy Mass would be of greater profit if people had it offered in their lifetime, rather than having it celebrated for the relief of their souls after death”
~ Pope Benedict XV

May God bless you. 😃
