**Can you imagine? The Holy Spirit prays for us with such intensity, that the Bible describes it as groaning and pleading. Even when we don’t know how to pray, we can rest in the fact that the Holy Spirit is praying for us – perfectly according to God’s will. The result? God promises that everything in the lives of His children will be worked out for their good.

Today’s Promise
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” — Romans 8: 26 – 28 (NLT)
**Pray Together
Spend today thanking God for sending His Holy Spirit to help you. Thank God that when you are at a loss for words and don’t know how to pray, He knows what you need and prays for you. Thank God that as you trust Him, He will work every situation for your good.**
Here is a prayer to the Holy Spirit which can be said at any time. It is the ‘sequence’ of the Mass for Pentecost.

Sequence of Pentecost **
O HOLY SPIRIT! Lord of light!
From Thy clear celestial height
Thy pure and beaming radiance give
.
Come, Thou Father of the poor!
Come, with treasures which endure!
Come, Thou light of all that live!
Thou of all Consolers best,
Visiting the troubled breast,
Dost refreshing peace bestow
.
Thou in toil art Comfort sweet,
Pleasant coolness in the heat,
Solace in the midst of woe
.
Light immortal! Light Divine!
Visit Thou these hearts of Thine,
And our inmost being fill.
If Thou take Thy grace away,
Nothing pure in man will stay;
All his good is turned to ill.
Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness, pour Thy dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away.
Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray.
Thou, on those who evermore
Thee confess and Thee adore,
In Thy sevenfold Gifts descend.
Give them comfort when they die;
Give them life with Thee on high;
Give them joys which never end.
Amen. ****
