I have a New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs that I carry in my back pocket at all times to evangelize to non-Catholics about the Catholic faith. I was looking for suggestions on a system of either cross references or really good verses to highlight in this Bible. I want things that would be useful in apologetics to non-Catholic Christians mainly. So things we commonly share beliefs in would not be necessary. I hope y’all can help me out on this!

God bless!

Catholic Answers has an awesome product called Topic Tabs. Like tabs that you use to mark the books of the bible, but instead it marks key verses that support Catholic doctrine. Makes it easy to find. Not exhaustive at all but a good start. 👍 I can’t figure out how to attach a link, but here’s their description:

I’m not sure if these help but you might highlight anything that refers to Mary as Virgin, Mother, and be ready to explain the translation of “brethren” to those who think that she had more children. Also have ready the Crucifixion when Jesus says “Mother behold the son” and “Son, behold thy mother” when he entrusted John with the role of caring for Mary. Have the Annunciation handy when they tell you that the rosary, particularly the Hail Mary is a “made-up” prayer.

Also highlight any section of the bible that has repetitive prayer, OT or NT.

Always have the Last Supper ready to explain that Jesus did NOT say, “This is a SYMBOL of My Body…” Have the Good Samaritan ready to ask why did Jesus tell this parable? if they state that only Christians will go to heaven. Also, the statement: "Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven…” and the story of the repentant Robber who died next to Jesus.

Of course, Jesus words to Peter: “Upon this rock…” and “The Gates of Hell will not prevail…”

I’m sure you and others will think of more. God bless you in your work.
