Does anyone know of a small pocket bible (both OT and NT please) that is available that also has the indents on the side so you can find the books in the bible easily? I know I can buy those tabs to stick on them, but I really would like to find one that has the indents (not sure if that is the correct term, but you see these on older dictionaries).

I have never seen a pocket-size Bible with indents. Print-space is scarce on pocket-size Bibles, and indents remove a lot of paper.

To tell the truth, I haven’t seen all that many large Bibles with indents, either. Perhaps they’re becoming less popular 🤷

What about the little black marks then on the edge of the paper to signify each book of the bible then? I know the St Joseph;s NAB Medium sized one has that, but that is larger than what I am looking for. amazon.com/American-Bible-Joseph-Medium-Size/dp/0899429505/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1429800122&sr=8-3&keywords=new+american+bible

The Spanish pocket Bible I have, the Biblia de Jerusalén, is like that. The pages have a silver edge and there’s a black mark for each book.

I don’t know if you spoke Spanish or if you were interested in purchasing a Spanish-language Bible, but just in case, here’s a link for the actual Bible on the publisher’s page and another one for the product on (Spanish) Amazon. 😃

I used to love compact New Testaments and smaller size Bibles, but now my iphone has become my compact Bible. I don’t have to deal with size 6 print :hypno: any longer, navigation through the Bible is a breeze and it is always with me! Don’t get me wrong I still prefer a real Bible at home when doing prayerful reading and study, but for travel and convenience I have my digital Bible at hand!

Thumb index is what we used to call them when they were still common. The main reason why you don’t see them so often these days, I believe, is that they cost a lot to produce. They’re a labor-intensive product, since almost all the work has to be done by hand.

Sure would be nice, though.
Yes… very nice indeed. I could have sworn I saw one recently that was a medium sized bible, but I can’t seem to find that again. It sure beats buying those tabs, and then sticking two pages together because the pages are so thin and you don’t notice it until after you stick them together with the tab. I also don’t think those tabs would work on such a short page height.

Oxford still uses thumb index tabs with their study bibles and large print bibles (such as the NABRE large print). But as mentioned above, I dont think they are practical on a small bible, not enough room.

My New Catholic Answer Bible is not pocket size. It does not have thumb indent like you are looking for. It is however easy to tell where each new book starts by the colored tab on the page (not sticking out from the page) with the title of the book written on it. You may find it helpful. It does come in paperback.
