Anybody here that downloads Podcasts, to a Computer, and/or MP3 player?

I recently got involved with Podcasting, with a new 30gigabyte Video iPod, and it is great. I have downloaded Catholic Answers and other EWTN programs FREE, from iTunes.
iTunes has a ton of free Podcasts, and I use that method.

Some LINKS:
Catholic Mormon Podcast < One of my favorites at the moment.

Catholic Answers < Good quality audio

EWTN programs < Lots of good programs
(A personal favorite is Father Benedict Groeschel)

Religion & Spirituality < some good ones.

LDS Podcasts

So is anybody Podcasting out there, and what do you like to listen to?

Not yet, but by golly you’re getting me interested!

Is this just another way to watch TV and/or listen to radio?

BTW Fr Groeschel is a favorite of ours, too. I never miss Sunday Night Live.

geocatcher, what’s the deal on that catholicmormon podcast site? Can you give me a quick thumbnail about it?

I will go there tonight after work and study it in more detail.

Thanks.

Click here: catholictelevision.org/ Then go to the podcasts button.

The site has a ton of podcasts of the television show The One True Faith (see my sig for more on the show, and to see if it’s airing in your neighborhood yet).

It is an informal site, where a husband and wife, where looking at both the LDS, and Catholic churches, and the wife WAS Mormon, and the husband was an inactive Catholic, but they both decided to become catholics together, after several missionary discussions and 2 or 3 times in the RCIA

Don’t forget to subsribe to the SQPN feeds. I think I saw that Fr. Roderick’s “Daily Breakfast” is the most popular show in the Religion section at iTunes. But don’t expect heavy theological instruction. His show is just fun, with some Catholic theology thrown in:

Check out Disciples with Microphones for some great podcasts to subscribe to. Catholic: Under the Hood, Rosary Army, Saintcast, The Catholic Underground, and Catholic Rockers are ones I regularly listen to.

I don’t have an ipod, but what is other good windows application for me to use for downloading?

Thanks!

I use I-tunes from apple. You can run i-tunes on a windows or Mac platform. I works beautifully, and it’s free.

For those that are unsure, the deal with podcasts is fairly simple, once you’ve downloaded a few times. From the links supplied, and through iTunes, you can view audio files for downloading to your PC. Once you have downloaded the files to your PC, transfer them to your music player. iPod is not necessary, any decent MP3 player or similar is going to be adequate. I usually install the files I download to my mobile phone. Once you have transferred the files to your device you can take them with you, to listen on the move. You can burn them to CD and listen to them through your car stereo. Or you can simply play them through your PC.

One of the first things I put on my iPod this past Christmas, was the Bible, and it is 83 hours long, the non-catholic KJV, and I think that this has more than justified my purchase of the iPod.

So, has anybody tried the Catholic_Mormon Podcast yet, it has alot of good info on both churches, and there is a total of 43 episodes available, even through iTunes. The Podcast is more Catholic, than Mormon, but it’s cool.

Been listening to the Audio Bilble again on the iPod at night.

So have any of you listened to Podcasts lately?

With Podcasting, you don’t necessarily need an iPod or to spend any money, all you need is a way to download podcasts to your PC, and listen to them on the Computer for free.

Actually, I listened to one of the catholicmormon podcasts just last night on my desktop. I think it was #43, or #143, or something like that. The couple had been away for some five months, and this was the first one they’d done in some time. I don’t know what the date of it was. I liked it. The two of them gave a brief testimony of their journey, he being a Catholic, she being born Mormon but not real hardcore, and finding her way to the Catholic Church through her husband.

I’ve been downloading John Martinogni talks from his website at Bible Christian Society. These are in MP3 format. I load them onto our handhelds (mine and the fiance’s) and we listen to them at work during from-the-neckdown work periods. She loves them. In fact, Geocacher, if you’re interested in some pretty level-headed Catholic apologetics, I recommend John Martinogni (hope I spelled his name right).
