This is just to point to an article on the interpretation of the Onan story that I have just posted on the “Moral Theology” forum:

I first crossposted the whole article here, but then felt that it was probable that crossposting articles over multiple forums was considered bad practice in this site. Additionally, I realized that it would be much better if discussion of the subject was concentrated in only one place. Therefore I decided to just leave a pointer to it here, so that users interested in matters of Scriptural exegesis that come to this forum can learn about it.
Clearly any discussion of the subject should take place under the article and not here.
