Yes, it is either a pointed argument or a pointless non-argument.I think he wanted to make the point that a pointless thread ought to be pointless, though he was afraid someone would make a point of contention with other posters, not related to the pointlessness of the thread itself.
Do you see my point(less)?
Jon
Unless we invoke modal logic and accept that it may āpossiblyā be a pointless thread. If this is not what the OP meant, then my argument is pointless. Carry on please.Yes, it is either a pointed argument or a pointless non-argument.
Inclusive.Iām trying to figure out what a-
āEvangelical Catholic (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod)ā is.
Trust the professionals to complicate everything, and screw it all up. Next thing we know, thereāll be a lawyer suing for a class action against pointlessness, on the basis of wasting clients time and money. What my husband would probably say - heās a mathematician - is that a pointless thread cannot exist because there are line segments all over the place here, and even one segment contains many, many points. Each alphabetical letter is made up of points too, so thereās nothing pointless about this thread.
I was wondering, do points have sharp ends or blunt ones? Do points have secret societies, and if so, are these immoral? Can points have genders? Can points make a point? Lots of other things I started wondering about too, but my laundry is almost dry now and I have to go and fold.
And for a parting thought, are points biased against edges?
I dunno. An experiment could be pointless.I hate to break it to everyone, but the OP invalidated his own thread. Review the title, he gave the thread a point (the experiment).
This post is well (not) said.
Immaterial. The experiment might have a point, but be utilizing a pointless thread as its means for reaching a conclusion. The thread, however, could still remain pointless:I dunno. An experiment could be pointless.
The North Koreans are coming!! Pointlessness has become Pynongyangness!!Immaterial. The experiment might have a point, but be utilizing a pointless thread as its means for reaching a conclusion. The thread, however, could still remain pointless:
Hypothesis: a pointless thread will still have many posts, and still run the risk of casting doubt upon the motives of the OP.
Conclusion: TBD
The experiment would have a point; but the thread could remain pointless.
I guess that means that the OP created a monster: although he thought the thread would, per se, have a āpointā (due to the experiment), it turns out that it remains pointless. Run for the hills! The thread has reached critical mass, and is about to run amok!![]()
