I know there are diverse opinions on this topic but want to know ONLY from those who have read something negative about this and if you could give me a reference explaining why!

I suspect the answer to your question is:
  1. parents sometimes like to label cartoons that they don’t like / find strange as evil. Pokémon is Japanese, so culturally it does seem a bit weird if you aren’t used to anime. Casually I have observed that some Evangelical groups seem particularly fond of doing this.
  2. people believe anything they read on the internet: snopes.com/pokemon-satanist-anti-christian-inverview/

Pokemon means pocket monster or terrible. It derives from serpents. I personally do not play it because where it derives from. I choose to pray against serpents, not play as them. I have experienced seeing hundreds of people at once, act as if they were zombie-like, being controlled by a pocket monster, taking them where ever it leads them. Not sure how healthy it is, if not done in moderation. As for a reference you asked for, its based on my experience and what I have seen. As for the meanings of the these dragon-serpents of Pokemon, you can google them anywhere. The world is giving so much credit and control to the monsters and not to God and His Angels & in His Saints… I hope you find what you are looking for and then evangelize it!
 
Pokemon does indeed derive from ‘Pocket Monster,’ but its ACTUAL origin is from rural Japan, where kids put big insects in their pockets and used them to compete against one another in beetle races.

Pokemon are animals, not demons. The Japanese love to call things ‘monsters’ that aren’t.

Harmless and innocent, so I can’t allow misinformation like that to slide.
 
I liked it and played it for a while, but the cartoons use far eastern religion. The game is fine but gets quirky and questionable when you start to use Physcic Pokemon and a few other breeds.

And to add to what you say, the Japanese word for monster is actually ‘kaiju’ not the borrowed English word ‘monster’. There’s nothing monstrous about pokemon; some of them do bad things at the bidding of evil humans like Team Rocket.

Don’t you mean Psychic pokemon?

Also, psychic type is kind of the “light” type of pokemon because it is often contrasted against the dark type.

A lot of individual pokemon are based on Japanese folklore and myths, which, makes sense considering that is the source material most well-known by the designers. However, especially in recent generations, they have been branching out to look for inspiration in folklore and mythology of other cultures. For example, the legendary pokemon of Generation 6 were based on Norse mythology.

However, it is not all folklore as pokemon have been inspired by basically everything from famous alien sightings to popular culture. If you want to know the origin of individual pokemon, you can look them up on Bulbapedia, a fan-made encyclopedia, and read about both their design and name origins.
 
I think it’s fine in moderation, like everything else that’s used for recreation. It would be a different story if you started worshiping it or believing it to be real etc.
 
I posted this and it is already off topic so perhaps I didn’t make myself clear. IF you believe Pokémon to be dangerous for children especially (and adults…) then could you give me a source to defend that position.

I understand your frustration; thread drift happens to us all, but there are people who may be interested in what has been posted here, and others may still weigh in.

But I still totally want my very own Pikachu.

I’m leaving both threads as no one is offering me any help that I’m asking for. ( some even chide me for asking) so I give up😔
