I was looking for information on any Catholic churches in the Nashville, TN area which are not Roman rite. A friend of mine is drawn to the Orthodox church, so I was looking for other rites in the area and I ran across this website.

netministries.org/see/churches.exe/ch16129

I was wondering if this is a valid church which falls under Rome or is it schismatic?
As has been mentioned, the Polish National Catholic Church is not in communion with Rome but DOES have valid orders and if you look in your Missal can receive Communion in the Catholic Church (I think it is called limited inter communion in article below) as can Orthodox. In an emergency you could receive sacraments from one of their priests (in an emergency not for convenience). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_National_Catholic_Church

Having said this, the group you link DOES NOT appear to be affiliated with the PNCC and in fact, I do not believe the PNCC allows female clergy.

The genuine Orthodox Church DOES not have female priests either so this is not a canonical Orthodox Church by any stretch nor one that is possibly genuine but outside of canonical Orthodoxy for one reason or another.

I would advise your friend to keep looking. Take her to an Eastern Rite Catholic Church. Looks like they are starting a mission. Link at the bottom says this one is in union with Rome. byzantines.net/Nashville/

There is an Old Catholic Church in Clarksville, TN, (All Saints) allsaintsoccna.org/
If one is to count ANY group that calls itself “Old Catholic” and has apostolic succession claims through a couple of vagantes, than this would be accurate.

If, however, one is consider only those in the Utrecht Union (or at least FORMER members like the PNCC - which is not OUT of the UU) as Old Catholics… Well the Utrecht Union only ever counted the PNCC and told whatever members of their minute flock who might end up on this side of the pond to attend the PECUSA (now TEC) or attend the PNCC. None of these various and sundry bodies (many of which are one-man orgs) that used the title “Old Catholic” would be considered a part of the UU.

I go to a Catholic Church that says it’s the 4th oldest in the original 13 colonies (St Mary’s, Lancaster PA). I wouldn’t know what the other three are, but St Mary’s was organized in 1741. Can anyone help with this query?
