A new poll conducted by CBS News and The New York Times has found that 77% of Catholics who attend Mass weekly say that “the Vatican’s handling of recent child sex abuse reports” has had no effect on how they “feel about the Catholic Church.”

Had these incidences scattered the faithful, then Satan would have sat back in glee laughing because he knows he has just won.

“An additional 12% of practicing Catholics say that they have a more positive feeling about the Church as a result of the Vatican’s handling of the scandals.”

…so 89% have had no effect or a positive effect.

My questions: of the other 11%, do they really attend Mass weekly? If so, do the feel less positive about the Church because they feel the Church has not been aggressive enough to counter the biased reports? If they feel less positive, do they actually know how the Church has responded or is their knowledge mostly limited to reports in the mainstream media?
