Which of the two most famous city-states of Greece do you like better? Athens or Sparta?

For me, I like Athens better. While Sparta had a really great army, Athens had much more philosophy and culture. Not to mention the Athenian democracy and its origin story about wisdom.

My heart beated for the “third greece” if I had to decide. Gortyn, Korinth, Theben. Sparte and Athens both were special and not “the” average greece city in the centuries BC, but they are far to often seen as that.

Thessaloniki for its importance to Christianity but out of the two presented Athens of course. I wonder who would pick Sparta though!
