I agree to this. It is why I generally refuse to vote (but as mentioned in my last post, I often give a blank vote), and absolutely will never register with a party.Fair enough, I didn’t notice that the thread where placed under Social justice.

But still I can’t see how it’s possible to have a political orientation coexisting with an religious belief/ faith if they don’t share the same fundamental valiues?(…)
I can however respect that some Catholics see certain causes as important enough to vote or even be politically active. But I do wish Republican-type Americans weren’t so set on convincing their counterpart that it’s impossible to be Catholic and Democrat, while reality is that the Republicans are also out of sync with the Church on very important issues, like the death penalty (especially how it is used in the States in our time), social justice and so on. I don’t understand how it’s possible to implicitly accept the Democratic stance on abortion, but then I do not understand how it’s possible to implicitly (even explicitly, in some cases) accept the Republican stance on the subjects I mentioned either.
