This question relates to the idea that Mary participates in Christ’s work as the one Mediator between God and man.

This is not yet dogmatically defined, so there are some open questions on the topic.

I think that she obviously cannot be the mediator from God to Christ as Man, nor from Christ to herself…but everything else…yes.

I agree, but it is a difficult point to get across because the term ALL has been used so often, without an explanation as to its limits.

I believe she could be the mediatrix of some graces the way any other saint can be through their intercession. I don’t believe she is some sort of universal mediatrix of grace. Something so important to the faith cannot be completely absent from the Bible and the Fathers. I don’t have a problem with a catholic practicing the spirituality of Montfort if they choose but that spirituality shouldn’t be mandated to the whole Church

“With equal truth can it be affirmed that, by the will of God, nothing of the immense treasure of every grace which the Lord has accumulated, comes to us except through Mary . . . . How great are the wisdom and mercy revealed in this design of God . . . Mary is our glorious intermdiary; she is the powerful Mother of the omnipotent God . . . This design of such dear mercy realized by God in Mary and confirmed by the testament of Christ (John 19:26-27), was understood from the beginning and accepted with the utmost joy by the holy Apostles and the earliest believers. It was also the belief and teaching of the venerable Fathers of the Church. All the Christian peoples of every age accepted it unanimously . . . There is no other reason for this than a divine faith.” - Pope Leo XIII from his encyclical “Octobri mense”.

In connection with this remarkable passage we would like to make the following observations:
1.) The truth proposed by Pope Leo is: the will of God is that we obtain absolutely everything through Mary.
2.) The encyclical is addressed to the whole Church.
3.) The Pope appeals to the universal belief of the Church from the Apostles to our own day, thereby officially interpreting tradition. This unanimous consensus of the Ecclesia docens with the Ecclesia discens in a matter that could not be learned except through revelation is a guarantee that God did reveal it.
4.) Pope Leo gives us to understand that God implied this truth in the Annunciation pericope (Luke 1:26-38), and also in the proclamation of Christ from the cross, as narrated in St. John’s Gospel (19:26-27). Therefore, the doctrine is based on the written word of God.

Mary is the Mediatrix of*** ALL GRACE ***which we receive. From Christ, through Mary to us.

Excellent post. Like cihldren, we turn to our Mother for every need.

So then, if she is the Mediatrix of all graces that we receive, she is not the Mediatrix of graces received by Christ and herself.

Even Christ is not the Mediator in His own case.
And she cannot be the Mediatrix of graces to Christ, for then she would be greater than Him.

I believe that she is also the Mediatrix of the graces received by the holy angels, by Adam and Eve, even before the Fall, by all of fallen humanity, by the holy souls in Purgatory, and even of the graces we receive in heaven.

Since grace is a participation in nothing less than the divinity of God himself, and Jesus is God, he did not receive grace as he is divine. Mary received grace. Jesus is Grace, always was, is and will be. Yes, he had grace in his humanity, because he is God, grace itself.

Jesus is like us in all things but sin. We receive grace from the Divine Nature, so therefore the human nature of Christ receives grace from the Divine Nature. His human nature cannot both have grace and never have received that grace from the Divine Nature. His human nature has grace, and therefore must have received grace.

The Council of Chalcedon: “one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, only-begotten, acknowledged in two natures which undergo no confusion, no change, no division, no separation; at no point was the difference between the natures taken away through the union, but rather the property of both natures is preserved and comes together into a single person and a single subsistent being….”

[Luke]
{2:52} And Jesus advanced in wisdom, and in age, and in grace, with God and men.

Why is the poll closed ?

I’d say, of all Christ desires her to assist him with. Which is probably quite a few. Christ graces her, and she mediates his grave to us.

I think polls close automatically after a certain period of time.

Mary is Mediatrix of graces to fallen humanity, to Adam and Eve before the Fall, to all the holy angels, to all the angels before they fell, that is, to all graces except those received by the human nature of Christ from His Divine Nature within the hypostatic union, and except those received by herself.
