How often has your church given instructions on how to receive communion.

I voted occasionally. The Parishes in My area are served by Oratorians (C.O.) and the Priests rotate Parishes every two years. When our current Preists came at the beginning of the Liturgical season last year, Father x had to remind the Faithfull that Reverence and an “Amen” was required when Receiving the Body Of Our Lord. Some had become a little complacent.🤷

I voted “never”. Actually, it’s once a year but only for the children receiving First Communion. 😦

Every few months, instructions are given at all Masses about going to confession, not receiving if conscious of mortal sin, how to receive on the tongue or in the hand, making a reverence beforehand, and consuming the Host immediately.

Except for First Communicants, I’ve never heard of such a thing.

When my husband & I went through RCIA we only received instruction on in the hand. I wish they had taught both 🙂

Our FSSP priest just gave us a very lengthy instruction for how to present ourselves at the Communion Rail two weeks ago.

Well, it’s the FSSP. Of course they’re going to knock it out of the ballpark!

I cannot recall ever hearing this at any church that I have been to. But there’s still time! It’s only been 22 years. They can still turn it around.

I voted occasionally but less than yearly and was going to vote never. I thought that would be kinder. It may have happened and I missed it.

I have never heard such instruction at our parish. Although at a meeting of EMHC’s and lectora recently, Father acknowledged that he might need to review both procedures for CITH and COTT with “the folks”.

I attended Mass at a Catholic Student Center one evening, and we got an extensive lesson on CITH. After an already lengthy in-depth homily.
